Waiting for my 2024 XLT Hybrid, currently in production.
I do have one question, with it being built in Mexico will it use metric fasteners ( nuts, bolts, etc.)?

I am excited to receive the truck, I have owned a truck for more than 30 years. Have been without one for more than year, sold my 21 Ram 3500 Crew Cab with an 8 foot bed, high output Cummins diesel (towed a 42' fifth wheel) so this will be a very different experience.

Thank you for any information.

That's actually a really good question. Mine is on it's way and been thinking about a toolbag/kit to put together and subscribing for the answer.

I have found that any car or light truck built in the last 20 years or so is virtually all metric. For a while there, you could find legacy engines and drivetrain parts from the "inch" days. But not much at all these days.

Yes it’s metric, but 13 mm is half inch and 7 mm is 5/16
Edit it is 8 mm 🤭

There's still a few holdovers that typically remain Imperial like brake line fittings although not uncommon for Fords to have metric connections at the ABS unit.

I think it has been more than 20 years. I haven’t worked at the auto repair shop for about 15 years and it was all metric before then.

I had two different F-150s in the past - the last one for over 22 years. You will absolutely love the Hybrid. The surprising acceleration, buttery-smooth eCVT transmission and car-like ride & handling will impress you. And two other biggies - parking and getting gas will make you smile.

Use the EV Coach screen. It will teach you how to wring the most MPGs outta your Hybrid.

Yes, metric fasteners.

I went from a 22 EB to a 24 hybrid and love it. The sounds are different, so give yourself some time to get used to them. My 24 hybrid just hit 1000 miles and I can feel and hear that it is breaking in nicely. Either that or I am getting accustomed to the electric sounds. Master braking to get maximum regenerative [the brake coach on the screen will help with that] and you can easily get 44+mpg. And your brake pads will last a very long time, saving on maintenance costs.

If you do mostly short trips which is where the hybrid has the advantage, use a synthetic oil designated for hybrids. The 2.5L ICE on the hybrid doesn't get to operating temp under short trips and the syn oil for hybrids has additives that account for that.

So far, zero issues with my hybrid.

Just a basic metric tool set with a T30 Torx bit. Make sure you have at least 6 10MM sockets.

Metric has been used on cars when I was working on them back in 1990's. I had both sets back then as some standard were used to.
