I am sure there is a thread covering this but I have not been able to find one despite using the search feature.

I am looking for a recommendation for a basic affordable jump pack that works should my Hybrid 12v leave me hanging.

Got the Ford Pass alert to Drive the vehicle to reconnect Ford Pass and exit battery saver mode.

Want to have a jump pack, just in case, in addition to my old school jumper cables.

I thank you in advance for any suggestions.
I picked up two of these (one for each vehicle). It can charge USB devices, Jump start and it has a built-in air-compressor with auto stop. It's on sale at Walmart. I also bought replacement air hoses that have a screw-on adapter instead of the cumbersome clamp-on type.

Where did you find the information about the hybrid battery starting the gasoline engine?
Here on MTC and elsewhere online.

On the Hybrid, there is no conventional "starter." Instead the ICE is started by one the electric motors located in the transmission. This happens quite frequently during driving. The HV battery provides the power to do this. During initial startup after truck has been sitting & turned off, the 12 battery provides power for the computers and other electronics, and it operates relay(s) for the HV battery to do the starting. The 12v does not start the ICE.

I haven't even got my truck yet but I picked up a NOCO GB70 on Amazon (Boxing Bay Sale - Canada - Eh!). I know its over kill but I like the piece of mind and I don't plan on using the truck to help out my fellow citizens if they need a jump start, I will just pull this out and there is zero risk to my hybrid.

I got one on Temu that works great. Jumped the Mav from a deep sleep and got right back in business. It was around $25. It was the cheapest one I found. It is only around 7" long and can be charged up in the Mav. I keep it right next to the battery just in case.
You are braver than I… I have seen too many stories in the news of Chinese made lithium batteries going up in flames. I saw them on Temu but ultimately decided to go with a name brand.

I just got the one I ordered from Amazon. As I suspected it would be, it is clearly marked, made in China.

I'm not really worried about it.

Where is your NOCO made?

When I made the made the comment about Temu I was referring to a no name brand. The Noco is US designed but may very well be manufactured in China like most tech items are. That does not worry me. I type this on an iPhone probably made in china as well.

I am considering buying a jump pack. I'm waiting for the shipped notice for my Lariat EB (built status 12/23). Other than a manufacturing related failure like some hybrid owners have experienced, I am curious what can cause a complete battery drain? Is there a timed auto-shutoff for headlights left on by accident or leaving the car in accessory mode? For cars I have owned since 2000, I haven't experienced a dead battery since my cars had features to shut off lights, accessories after a period of time passed from engine shut off.

Hybrids have a lot of stuff running in the background even while parked.
EcoBoost not as much.

Get a NOCO. Very popular brand on MTC and elsewhere. I've had a NOCO since before I got a Maverick and they work great. You don't need a super heavy-duty one because on the Hybrid, all the 12v battery does when starting is run the computers & electronics and operate a relay so that the high voltage battery can actually start the truck. The 12v battery doesn't have to actually crank the gasoline engine.

Store it under the seat and take it out once or twice a year to top off the charge.

You also might want to consider a battery tender, too. I connect mine to my Maverick any time I won't be driving it for a few days. Of course, we shouldn't have to do this, but I want my battery to last as long as possible. A battery tender helps with this.
Battery tender has become a very wise move for any brand of vehicle for long battery life.

I am still waiting for my truck to be built, but I am very happy with the NOCO I bought. Since getting it I have jump started my Saturn Vue 4 times (3.6L). I have always had problems with batteries in the Vue. Especially when it sits for 3 days or more. I have a wireless backup cam that plugs in to the 12V port and draws power 24/7 unless I unplug it. Unfortunately the 12V port does not power down after the keys are removed, but even if I do unplug it there's no guarantee it will fire up after a couple of days.

The frustrating thing is the computer will not even try to start the engine if the voltage drops below a preset value. I can have dash lights, radio etc. but turn the key in the ignition and nothing.

I have a charger on my workbench in front of it and I will often put it on trickle charge just to get back fully charged.

My commute is 15 mins so it does not get a good run most of the time. The battery is a fairly new AC Delco. To jump it with my old charger you have to choose the jump start option and it does what I assume is a 90 second quick charge before you turn the key... The NOCO pack is much easier to use and the bonus is it goes with you so if you can't get it started after work your not stuck.

4 boosts in and the charge light is still on full (green). I don't think I will ever not have one in my vehicles going forward!

has anyone had to use the noco? and if so, were the cables long enough to do the job? Thanks!
