Hey at least you got something. Nothing from Ford here in Canada for the airbags or any of the other recalls.Maybe we'll all get another marginally effective water bottle out of this recall too?
Parts? I thought this was software…Had mine in for an oil change today and they mentioned this to me, and I was like thats news to me I haven't even seen anything in the mail. But they have all the parts already so I said I'd bring it back Thursday they said it would only take about a hour.
That’s what I understood as well. I hoped it could be done at the same time as an oil change.Parts? I thought this was software…
Yep, it's just an update to the latest software version for the BCM (body control module) firmware. There's not much for the dealer to prepare in advance. They'll hook up FDRS and 12V power to the vehicle, launch the BCM update tool, and follow the instructions from there.Parts? I thought this was software…

Heading in for the fix!Have had my 23 Lariat for about five months. Some how, CarFax knows everything about my Lariat, age, mileage, etc. The other day, CarFax sent me notice of a recall (see image). I’m surprised that I’m hearing about this from CarFax and not Ford. Anyone else get this notice?

Depends on appointment schedule of properly trained tech which might not be the oil tech specialist. That’s what I understood as well. I hoped it could be done at the same time as an oil change.
