Well, it looks like this was hopefully just an extension of the two day shutdown already happening this week. Of course mine was scheduled for build this week 😣....now slid to next week (hopefully no longer).
You might call Ford Marketing. My next week build that was originally this week got shifted to November 8.

How did you find out this? Did you get another email? Definitely not the best news I've heard today....

I called Ford Marketing, since my dealer was not a help and the trackers weren't showing a date... They can give you status updates on your order. Be prepared for long hold times...my phone call was almost 45 minutes.
I've not received an email from Ford since 10/1. They acknowledged my order 06/30, gave my VIN and original build date in August, the 12th I believe, and sent the date change 10/1.

I'm PISSED. Really PISSED off. I'm going to rant and rant.... sorry

Why is it the auto industry put ALL it's eggs in one basket???? Chips... and car parts coming from China and Southeast Asian is KILLING auto manufacturing all over the world. Do you know where it isn't causing shortages? One guess... China. They are making cars like crazy and no shortages.

Made in China... this and that. This is bullshit. When will we (America) wake up and stop having EVERYTHING made in China? What's next.. Milk and eggs from China.. Laugh.. but it's going to happen to us.

Thank you @MimiE. Our builds are practically identical (XLT minus tow package and moonroof). Wonder which option is the guilty party???

Its worse, many industries suffer from this same reliance. Its called a global market, if someone makes things cheaper with smaller wages, then more expensive makers go out of business and everyone will buy from the cheaper places.

All people do what is best for them (spend the least money), not best for thier neighbors (support a local business). So if a company uses hihger priced components thier end product will cost more and everyone will just buy the cheaper one. We are doing it to ourselves with our lust for cheap stuff (no matter the quality or cost to those around us).

This is very true. I sell auto parts for a living. In the past, the options were for me to sell a premium product made in the US, or at least North America, or to sell an economical product which was usually made in China. Because the market (us) has demanded lower prices, manufacturers of lines such as Timken and Raybestos have had to move production overseas. That is not to say the premium products are not held to higher quality control standards, but they are now made in Chinese, or at least in overseas plants, instead of here, where it's possible we could have affected some change in how quickly we shifted and responded to the pandemic.

Spray in bedliner? I heard chemicals used in the material are in short supply because of Snowmaggedon, AKA the Deep Freeze, in Texas in February. A manufacturing plant was damaged then. Ironically, that freeze is why I ordered the (AWD) truck.

It’s a two way street the consumer wants a lower price ,the share holder wants a higher profit.

Possibly....or our super cool Alto Blue Paint. I'd be perfectly happy to drop the spray in liner (and get LineX) but it is part of the Lux Package and don't want to drop that. If they'd offer a price cut to dump the liner but not the rest, I'd be all over it (if that was the only holdup). I already dropped the Hard Tonneau cover I had originally for same reason. Well, that and I can get the same one (actually an upgraded model) for cheaper from the manufacturer - BakFlip.

Yes. Very true. And I'm on both sides of that fence, since I hold some stock in Ford. I usually weigh the need, the reasons for purchase, and my level of fiscal health when I purchase things..I try to buy locally when I can, but I can't lie. I use Amazon.

But I found it interesting that the same garage customer who wanted the cheapest price also made us check country of origin and refused Chinese product...I tried to explain he couldn't have it both ways. He didn't get it.

I've had to place 2 orders. The first one, i placed on 08/21/21 and was never put in and I never received the confirmatory email. When I contacted my local dealer, they asked me to send them all my information again. I went to another dealer to confirm my order, and it was never placed by the first dealer, so I lost a whole month. 2nd order was placed on 09/25/21. I probably won't see my truck till 2030. 🤬🤬🤬
That sounds like my stirred. Two diffferent orders from two dealers. And the same dates. I am also being high jacketed for the second order and Ford changing the specs by adding the AWD package and saying the first dealer did not do thier job in a timely fashion. $2200 extra does not make for customer relations

and the Xmas deliver promise is slipping away
And I hear that people with more than order are now at the bottom of the list

And I didn't even want the bedliner, but yeah, it 's part of the package..I was told somewhere on here that if I tried to change my build this late in the game, I would go to the back of the line...it's not like I can't get a bed at or a spray in liner thru my work contacts 🙃😆🙃

I keep a vehicle for as long as I can, almost always paying it off long before I sell it.
Same for me. My last three vehicles were in order: 1987 Mazda 626 for 11 years, 1998 Ford Ranger XLT SuperCab for 16 years 2 months, 2015 Honda Fit 7 years 1 month which is my current vehicle and I will be selling/trading-in come December when I get my new Maverick.

Average of 11 years 5.7 months per vehicle.

Considering my age and how long I generally keep a vehicle the Maverick could be the last vehicle I own! 😁
Well when I bought the Fit I thought that maybe it would outlast me but now here comes my Maverick so maybe I can keep kicking that can down the road. :)
