The other day while cleaning out the garage I noticed a black spot on the garage floor. A little investigating and I noticed it coming from the 2.0 exhaust system specifically part in pic. Truck is a 2022 with 20,00 miles on it. Is this normal? I can’t tell if exhuast sludge is leaking from a weld or if there is a pre drilled hole and meant to do that? None the less the rust is appalling IMO for a 2 year old vehicle. The cleaner exhaust pic is from my wife’s 2016 RAV4 with 90,000 miles on it.

Guess where my Maverick is usually parked? (F150 XL was a service loaner a while back and didn't fit in my garage btw. :ROFLMAO:)

Thanks! Don’t know if I should be happy or sad…I guess I will continue to remain indifferent. When people ask my how I like the Maverick…I tell them if Ford would have asked Toyota or Honda to build their truck it would have been a home run!

I can see salt being the culprit in this however this is premature for 20,000 miles. Everything else underneath looks clean.

Honestly I was bummed too, my garage floor pictured was poured in January '21 so it was pristine before that weep hole belched carbon all over it.

I would guess there are zero vehicles as cheap as a Maverick that have full stainless exhaust. And I got over it.

My plan is just drive it until I feel like an upgrade, or it rusts out. Whichever happens first I'm going to a locally owned, trusted muffler shop and having a 90 deg muffler put on at the resonator, ahead of the rear axle, and side exit behind the passenger rear door.

Would have also cost twice as much, but you know that.

I've owned several fords, currently have a 6 year old mustang with a similar price point and just shy of 200k and the exhaust is not stainless and isn't rusted out. Ford's quality has definitely gone down hill especially the paint.

Knowing that the exhaust system is not stainless steel, I painted it with 1400 degree paint so it would look pretty while it corroded from the inside out!

it's definitely the cheapest muffler I've seen used on a modern vehicle.

The paint is typical though. I had a Mazda CX-9 before my Maverick and it had a lot of painted plastic, and it was heavily pitted by stone chips. Whatever they did to paint to make it more eco friendly and less toxic, it also made it very easy to chip.

LOL minus the pitting from the tires/salt and the crack from settling.....

Well documented the mufflers are going to rust out in short order. I'll have my local shop (Mad Hatter) replace it from the catback with stainless steel and lighter weight muffler in a few years if I decide to keep the Tremor long term (looking likely).

Exactly what came to mind. High temp paint before the rust begins. 👍

My wife found the concrete guy from a referral and his bid was thousands less than 2 other bids. First crack was under a year, she decided not to pursue warranty with them because it's a small family business.

But that pic is also evidence of what happens when you use the lowest bidder. The garage and Mav have that in common it seems. ;)

They did the driveway also and I don't think there are any cracks in it, yet.
