AWD most likely would be slower, as they are heavier. 4K tow might have an advantage because of a bit steeper gearing over a regular 2K tow EB, but I doubt it. XL or XLT EB FWD with no options should be the quickest.
True , AWD is heavier, but no spinning off the line so I think that makes it quicker.

Tire, traction control, and driver dependent. My hybrid is quicker off a stop with traction control off than on. Having it on slows it down. Wheelspin with it off is minimal. Slight spin is quicker than TC bogging it down.

EXACTLY! That's what I meant. I forgot the 2wd EB existed. XL $23,400 will be the fastest stock maverick on earth right now.

I would look at AVIS, Hertz, or possibly Turo.

I wouldn't doubt they add AWD availability to the hybrids, or add a PHEV version for 2025. Ford could cash in requiring PHEV to get AWD.
If they do a PHEV with all wheel drive. That would literally tick every box that I had on my new vehicle wish list. I will for sure order that!!

My 22 Eco FWD ran a 14.61 with nothing more than 91 in the tank at the track, & having no experience with a small turbo engine at the track I could have done slightly better with practice.

Unfortunately the FWD eco sufferers from severe wheel hop and wheel spin because of this the AWD version is faster. The quickest Mav from the factory would be a 22MY XL with AWD and the 4K tow package.
How did you know this?

I found this out shortly after I got it, was very strange for a FWD vehicle, slightly higher tire pressure & a Steeda strut brace reduced it, but when I put a set of steelies(winter) on with slightly more aggressive all season tires no more hop.

Well, I've had my hybrid about 14 months now and have always used Eco mode when driving. Today I put it in Sport mode and what a difference!
Which is fastest off the line, stock hybrid, or stock ecoboost? Also, which would win the quarter mile race?
Sport mode is FUN! I love using it on a on ramp to the interstate. She gets up and GOES!!!

I get a kick out of the 'fake' gear shifting sound :)

Early reviews from some of the car mags mentioned the wheel spin issue on the FWD eco. Once they started getting into customers hands there would be a few posts on the forum here and there about it.
1/4 mile times and 0-60 times are difficult to come by. Just a few anecdotal reports here and there but enough to draw a conclusion.

The FWD eco is not a very popular configuration though so it's not something that is discussed very often on the forums because of this it is easy to see why you, LSchicago, and other members might think it is the fastest factory configuration.
