Nice add-ons! I'll be doing more to mine as well. Today the weather is great, so I installed the Bushwacker fender flares this afternoon. Here's the before and after:

There was a $5,000 'market price adjustment' I was able to get them to reduce, but I still paid over MSRP. :-( It will be interesting to see what the new 2024 Mavericks list for to see just how much more I actually paid vs ordering one.
The reason some people here got their ordered trucks stolen from them by a dealerhsip.

Pretty big assumption on your part. Lots of folks bailed on Mavericks because they a) didn't like it once they actually saw it, or b) couldn't get it financed when the rates went up, or c) got tired of waiting or needed a vehicle sooner than their order came through. I've only read a couple of instances here on MTC where dishonest dealers "stole" an order from the legitimate order-holder...

I guess I could tie in, the reason why dealers are doing price adjustments too.. If you want to disregard my previous claims.

Oh, absolutely. I paid extra to avoid the line, just like at DisneyWorld... And I know that folks who didn't pay extra at Disney probably resent that as well. I'm just saying it's a long leap from that statement to "dealers are stealing people's ordered vehicles" because others are willing to pay above MSRP... Heck, they could (and some do) just demand "extra" add-ons as a price of doing business on a high-demand vehicle.

I guess it's an impulse / instant gratification thing I don't understand.

Clearly not, if you think my purchase after 12 months of waiting was an "impulse" buy... I would have bought a Maverick in early 2022, but my local Ford dealer told me they were sold out through the end of the model year. I asked about placing an order, and was told I had to wait until the order window opened for 2023. Then when the window finally opened in September of 2022, Ford dealers accepted more than 2X the number of Hybrids that Ford expected to produce for 2023. So even after waiting the better part of a year, my odds were less than 50/50 of getting the truck I wanted.

I didn't "settle" for a different vehicle that wasn't what I wanted. I didn't "settle" for a Maverick that wasn't equipped the way I wanted. When this one became available – in my second-favorite color choice, no less (Area 51 vs Cyber Orange) – I was happy to get a new one for about what Carvana and CarMax were asking for used ones. The fact that I was able to sell my crappy Prius-C for enough to make up for any ADM was just icing on the cake.

All the folks who insist they would NEVER pay over MSRP are quite happy that they can sell their used car for FAR MORE than they would historically get for that car. That is the EXACT SAME market force that is causing Maverick prices to be higher than MSRP for "stock" or "unclaimed order" vehicles. I don't see them saying "Oh, no, Mr Dealership! Please give me LESS for my trade-in than this ridiculously overpriced market says it's worth. I don't want to take advantage of you."

Can you say "hypocritical?"

I found our local dealer had two(2) in stock. I wanted a Hot Pepper Red , but white and blue was what was available. My salesman looked over a 100 mile area and found one red Lariat. I wanted the XLT. While he was looking he told me a blue one might be available out back in the reserved and sold vehicles. A family member had ordered one, and didn't want it. He confirmed that with the family member, and I took it. I paid MSRP, but they threw in mudflaps installed. Where I took the shaft is the trade-in on my pristine low mileage Honda Passport. The sales manger lied about what he would price it when on the lot. I have only added interior items, and a Truxedo Sport tonneau.
