Thanks for the clear and concise yet friendly review of a quality dealer. My contacts with the representatives have been fruitful.Picked up my truck from @Granger Ford this morning!
I just wanted to take a quick minute and share my final thoughts on what has been an excellent buying experience from start to finish. I see the model for sales they are trying to build as a great direction for buyers, their business and Ford as a company. Here are a few highlights:
Oh, Eric in the finance team did ask us to root for the Hawkeyes for the day, which we begrudgingly agreed to (you're welcome for that win!).
- Great ordering process - quick responses, including several changes to my order and follow-up to questions - order placed the same day (Back on 6/18)
- Emailed me when I was scheduled (the Ford email never came, despite them having my correct email from the start...I both contacted Ford marketing # and received my initial order #!)
- Kept me up to date, and offered a reasonable value on my trade (though a last minute crazy CarMax offer had me go in a different direction)
- Very quick with arranging partial financing (couldn't turn down Ford's current great rates) in the last week before we arrived
- Had the truck ready first thing, and had us in and through everything in an hour this morning - offered warranty, no hard sells just some discussion about it.
That is it - great experience end to end!
It may not make sense for everyone to seek out a dealer half way across the country - time and travel can become a factor. But I would encourage anyone thinking about it to give it a go! This was a relatively short trip, about 4 hours drive for me. Last year I did something similar and flew to Seattle from MN to pick up a used fiat for my wife...drove it home over a couple of days and it was a lot of fun. It makes for some memories and time to get acquainted with your new vehicle. We've owned about 20 vehicles in as many years, and these were the first 2 I've travelled to purchase - after 2 similar experiences and great savings, I'll be doing it every time I can going forward!
Question* once you get the truck home did you have any issues with your states DMV? The dealer said they charge for your local ( state & county ) taxes, reg. fee, tags/plates and then you are set for local registration. I haven’t heard anyone tell us the other side of the story ..... does all that go well when you go to your local DMV?
I sure hope so as I am about ready to order and save $2800.00 + or -.
Thanks in advance and enjoy your new ride
