Picked up my truck from @Granger Ford this morning!

I just wanted to take a quick minute and share my final thoughts on what has been an excellent buying experience from start to finish. I see the model for sales they are trying to build as a great direction for buyers, their business and Ford as a company. Here are a few highlights:
  • Great ordering process - quick responses, including several changes to my order and follow-up to questions - order placed the same day (Back on 6/18)
  • Emailed me when I was scheduled (the Ford email never came, despite them having my correct email from the start...I both contacted Ford marketing # and received my initial order #!)
  • Kept me up to date, and offered a reasonable value on my trade (though a last minute crazy CarMax offer had me go in a different direction)
  • Very quick with arranging partial financing (couldn't turn down Ford's current great rates) in the last week before we arrived
  • Had the truck ready first thing, and had us in and through everything in an hour this morning - offered warranty, no hard sells just some discussion about it.
Oh, Eric in the finance team did ask us to root for the Hawkeyes for the day, which we begrudgingly agreed to (you're welcome for that win!).

That is it - great experience end to end!

It may not make sense for everyone to seek out a dealer half way across the country - time and travel can become a factor. But I would encourage anyone thinking about it to give it a go! This was a relatively short trip, about 4 hours drive for me. Last year I did something similar and flew to Seattle from MN to pick up a used fiat for my wife...drove it home over a couple of days and it was a lot of fun. It makes for some memories and time to get acquainted with your new vehicle. We've owned about 20 vehicles in as many years, and these were the first 2 I've travelled to purchase - after 2 similar experiences and great savings, I'll be doing it every time I can going forward!
Thanks for the clear and concise yet friendly review of a quality dealer. My contacts with the representatives have been fruitful.
Question* once you get the truck home did you have any issues with your states DMV? The dealer said they charge for your local ( state & county ) taxes, reg. fee, tags/plates and then you are set for local registration. I haven’t heard anyone tell us the other side of the story ..... does all that go well when you go to your local DMV?
I sure hope so as I am about ready to order and save $2800.00 + or -.
Thanks in advance and enjoy your new ride ✔🇺🇸

We had 3 scheduled today.

3 more left to go this allocation run.
Thx for the update as always... maybe I'll snag one of those remaining 3.

I'm not sure if it was different because I'm in a neighboring state (it maybe this is just the option I had said I wanted to do back in June, because I did want to do this...).

I did not pay registration or tax to Granger. After the sale Saturday they sent me 2 final documents overnight which I recieved Tuesday. Yesterday I took those to the Minnesota DMV, registered the truck and received my plates. Could not have been easier for an out of state transaction.

Perhaps Zach can clarify whether either tax and registration is an option or if it depends on your home state.

I didn't end up going with Granger but we did discuss the out of state tax issue. They offered to roll it into financing by adjusting your amount financed and then cutting you a check for the tax amount for you to pay your DMV. This is a nice touch.

I believe they are. Hopefully Zach will let you know.
Thx- Have a local order in as of 8/30 but the dealer who has been helpful and upfront has passed me onto one of the general sales folks and when I ask about allocations, # or folks currently in front me or ask to get an upgraded priority number- the response is just a shortage of chips and they are building them as fast as they can- Looking at other options that save money, can communicate better and such even if it means 10 hours of windshield time after picking up the Maverick-

Well I better stick with Ford ESP because the link from Ethos, the parent company to the BBB is not rated good at all. Thanks.

This is the link to the company. Unfortunately some other finance manager's at other dealerships may overpromise and under deliver on what is sold. Our relationship with them has been for over 20 years and they've been fantastic. I detailed the WHY here in this post.

We do not collect tax, title, registration. That is paid in your home state. We can collect an estimate if you want to include in your finanncing, but we'd write you a check back and you'd pay upon your return.

Thank you Zach. I will get back in touch with you as you arranged my estimate a week or so ago. Time to herd in a Maverick.
Take care-
**** The Iowa fee is of course needed and that also allows the temp reg or document to drive back home if I recall.

Out of curiosity, how are the numbers looking for you all? Orders, scheduled, allocations,. Trying to figure out the best option for my situation knowing that hybrids are a bit of a wait as it is.

We have 7 delivered, 1 retail in-stock, 3 in-transit, 18 with vins. 3 left to schedule this month and around 50 unassigned vins.
