Anyone else have this issue? Sometimes my camera takes well over 5 seconds to turn on after shifting into reverse. I've never experienced this. Every other vehicle I've owned has been instant.

I'm taking into the dealer today as it's still well under warranty. I'm guessing they'll say they can't find anything.

Have you gone into your settings (on the radio) to see if you have the camera delay box checked? It isn't checked on mine, and it could mean that the camera stays on longer after you shift out of reverse, but maybe it means that there is a delay before it turns on?

That "camera delay box" option is not for an initial delay but a post delay that shows the reverse camera view for a few seconds when you switch from reverse to driving forward.

I have had the problem of the delay showing the rear view camera on the screen with or without the "camera delay box" checked.

I am on the latest software version.

I have also had delays in showing the Maps Screen.

It appears that there is some software processing issue as the lag has been more noticable recently.

Is yours a Lariat w/nav? I assumed this was likely just caused by the cheaper unit not having enough ram to load all the software quickly or something of that sort. I also assumed the Lariat would be better equipped.

Service guy says they've seen it before, but not with the Maverick. Could be a module that wasn't enabled in the right order or something. I'm assuming they won't find anything but at least they can get it documented under warranty until maybe they do find the cause later.

Just checked mine, about a half second delay, about the time it takes the transmission to engage reverse. Sync 3

Some one posted about this a couple months ago - I can't find the thread but I believe it was resolved by restarting/resetting their SYNC (press the power/vol button and seek/next track buttons at the same time and hold until it restarts). Didn't work for everyone but resolved the delay for a few.

I have the same
Problem. Seems to be mostly an issue when I turn on the maverick and quickly try and reverse. And in higher temperatures or really low temperatures.

Same thing on my LXT. About a 5 second lag between the time I put the transmission in D and the rear view camera stops showing on the screen.

Yesterday while backing out of my garage I noticed the backup camera wasn’t showing up on the screen. After 5-10 seconds it came on for a short time and the screen went black. I also noticed the tone of the rear cross traffic alert changed. It was pretty strange but it hasn’t happened since.

Mine is nearly instant, certainly not 5 seconds.

Concur, same with mine, near instant. However, I not sure if it makes a difference with or without LUX Pkg / with or without Sync 3
