Hello and happy Friday eve lol.
I have the 2024 XL Hybrid.
I am aware of the recall about the backup camera issue and have received multiple notices by US mail. However I am reluctant to get the fix that is now available.
When I called to schedule the software install, Service stated that they would have the truck all day.
I have read that some of the Ford recalls involve rectifying problems caused by initial recalls.
My Maverick has lane detection. During night driving two driver alerts occur at random, one about pulling over, the other saying rest ssuggested. My sales rep relayed that I should signal for lane changes, but the alerts appear when I am within my lane. I inquired again about the alerts during my first service visit at 10k miles. I was advised to get my battery checked. So then I consulted the manual. On page 255 the lane detection system is discussed. It notes that lane detection tries to read the road markings, but does not work well. Disabling it in the event of erroneous function was suggested.
With my backup camera first there was a change where it started showing a message to check surroundings before moving in reverse. Was some sort of update pushed through the modem? Today I finally experienced the frozen view problem. I turned off the engine then restarted, tried R again and the camera worked normally now showing a perforated black line going out the middle of the truck, in addition to the check surroundings message. Was another update sent?
I am going to delay the recall visit until I get more information from Ford.
Thanks for reading this post. Aniticipating your feedback.
