Well, I added Eco and Sport modes via Forscan and took my little mule Pepe out for a spin yesterday. Was figuring I'd get a mild boost from Sport. Holy sheep shit, was I ever surprised! Sport mode got my attention with the bonus of my head snapping back a bit. My old 4.0l 6 banger manual shift Ranger can be a hoot to drive at times too, but the Maverick in Sport mode gave this old fart a thrill! This mod alone was worth the cost of a used laptop and Forscan scanner, although I probably won't be using it that much. Still it's nice to know I can switch to Batmobile mode if I want to!

FWIW, when going through my dash settings I noticed the Trailer Anti-Sway option was checked from the factory. I unchecked that since I am not trailering, and will re-enable it when needed. I'm wondering if Ford disabled Sport and Eco on the FX4s because they don't want us off-roading or accidentally trailering in either of those. 🤔

I haven't even tried Sport mode yet... Probably shouldn't so I don't know what I am missing, haha. I always put my former Volt in Sport mode for EVERY drive (normal was annoying), here it will be like 5 button presses every time I get in. :)

I read somewhere you can change the Drive Mode order in the menu. But it's worth the five clicks!

I'll have to play around and see if that is true. :)

My only interest in forscan is sport mode! I’ve heard so much about it that it has me real curious to open the doors for my FX4. It’s plenty fun to drive now but there’s always the potential for more!! LOL

I’m not pursuing 11 sec 1/4 mile times like others (and I love following their progress), but a little more spicy wouldn’t be bad!

Try it! I've had my XL for over a year and half and tried Sport mode yesterday! Wow it's impressive. Gas mileage....not impressive, mpgs started dropping in less than mile.

Eco and sport is standard in the maverick, curious why you needed for scan to ad something that's already there?

Haha. I thought it fit too. Mine is a tribute to "Pepe, My Little Mule" from Romancing The Stone.
I have the original PePe lol. I went with the name since mine is hot red pepper. When setting up my truck at purchase the salesman said it as peepee. :S

it's not standard if you have FX4 or Tremor. those trucks get mud and sand modes instead.

you can turn on eco and sport on FX4 & Tremor, and you can turn on mud and sand on another Maverick. I honestly do not know what a hybrid does with mud and sand, but I'm pretty confident an ecoboost awd truck would work the same as a factory FX4.

They're removed from Eco FX4 with the 4k tow package. I like options so I added them back. ;)

Just saw colini beat me to this in the post above.

Yep, so curious why Ford would remove those modes on the FX4 if you can just re-ad them. Seems like a waste of time for Ford.

I would guess that focus groups said it's too many options to click through. Sport mode is a major loss, eco doesn't do jack sheet for me (and many other ecoboost owners).

Agreed. I tried eco mode and it barely made a difference in gas mileage. Sport mode however you could feel a difference in your seat of the pants.
