I can purchase a 2023 XL for $1k over MSRP which makes it the same price as a 2024. The dealership told me that there are no hardware changes between the 2023 and 2024 Mavericks and that it is just a software update. The configuration is identical. Is it true that nothing in the hardware or electrical has changed for 2024? For a hybrid I'd prefer to have the most up-to-date hardware.

All other things being equal, resale value would be a bit better with a '24.

Definitely a few changes to the base features on Lariats between '23 and '24, but not recalling much besides color changes and the base engine for the XL .

Question of my own: Likely more than a few smaller revisions made to components or assembly, even if features have not changed on the XL trim?

You can see the list of changes in the first post of this thread.
https://www.mavericktruckclub.com/f...k-order-guide-released-updated-monthly.34141/

Mostly the same, some dropped options and some colors no longer available on the XL trim. If you're looking at a basic truck then it should be identical.

The Hybrid does incur a $1500 upcharge on the 2024s so the total cost is ~$2500 more than last year (don't recall the exact amounts). The 2023 will still be a bit cheaper, even with a $1k markup.

Autonation near me charges a $995 doc fee for a 2024 order. This dealership charges a $999 doc fee.

So, a similar build on a 2024 is $27,815. The 2023 is $27,400 plus they add $357.32 in disguised "fees", mainly in what they call an "electronic tag fee" as well as other little fees. So, $27,400 (MSRP plus $1k) + $357.32 (extra fees) + 4 (doc fee difference between the dealerships) = $27,761.32.

On the 2023 XL I get a 400W inverter and manual sliding window, which is no longer available on the 2024 XL. So that is a plus. I left that out of the 2024 build price since it's not available. But I don't "have" to have those.

Never mind. Someone else bought the 2023 at a higher price before I could put a deposit down. I guess I pondered it too long. One of these days they'll stop all this "market adjustment" nonsense and it'll make the process much easier for consumers. If the 2023 was less than the 2024 (as it should have been) then I wouldn't have pondered it at all.

Wasn't meant to be. If you thought it was a deal you woulda jumped on it. They'll be another one, don't worry!
(at some point either dealers will discount and/or Ford may offer promo APRs again...)

Thank you. Yeah, this craziness has got to stop some time. I need a vehicle soon so I might have to find a way to buy "something" until everything settles down. But I'm still looking and there are still dealerships that don't mark them up so it's just a matter of time.

For what it's worth, the MPG's on the window sticker for '23 hybrid says 40mpg highway, combined 37mpg and the window sticker for '24 hybrid says 42 mpg, combined city/highway 37mpg.

Now that the '24's are out I would not pay over MSRP for a 23. Go to Ford.com-->trucks-->Maverick-->build-->check inventory [fill in ZIP code and radius for the market area you are willing to travel to] to get an idea of what is out there. When you spot one you are interested in, shop by email with their "Internet sales Dept". You can make an offer lower than what they quote. Get a specific committment as far as price, tax, reg, dealer installed extras, and an out-the-door price. If you qualify for military, Farm Bureau etc. discounts, ask them to qualify you. If you need financing, shop credit unions.

I did that in Oct 2022 when supplies were really tight. It was worth it for me/wife to drive 180mi round trip to get it.

Why are you paying 1K over MSRP?
In this environment it should be at MSRP?

I have a hybrid I believe he is correct - only software updates

You need a X plan. Those doc fees are crazy. My dealer charged $347.

Mine sells for MSRP + $129 doc fee. No other fees or add-ons. Their doc fee is stated on the main landing page of their website.

OP needs to find an honest, up-front dealer, not a stealership with a billion fees.

Agreed. I knew my doc fee wasn't cheap, but $1,000 is just ridiculous.

Damn the doc fees in Florida are insane. In NJ they are about $500.00. In NY it's capped at $175.00 up from $75.00 a few years ago. Heard Florida has one of the highest doc fees in the country.

Most of the $150 I'll get back. That is there in case you need a new Lic. plate.
