Cargo management crossbar -- what are these cables?

I just got my 2023 after a very long wait. Does anyone know what the cables that come with the kit are for? Dealership has no idea.

Maybe some kind of theft deterrent cable to keep the crossbars from disappearing? But the cables are easily removed from the crossbars like the tailgate cable attachment system.

They are the same as on my bed divider. If you loop them through the attachment point areas, I think the cable (with a lock) will keep them from being stolen. I left mine off my divider.

I still haven't figured out what the crossbars are even for. The salesman ordered them on my truck by accident/ignorance and the dealership stuck me with them. $350 just sitting in the corner of my garage. I'd have sold you mine for half price.

Does the attachment point the cable is attached to slide down the rail?

It may just be another way to secure an item by looping it through the open end before attaching it to the peg.

Same thing you use any cross bars for I assume, mounting stuff. Cross bar mounting bike racks and such. Looks like it has t-tracks, so it could be used for all kinds of stuff.

It was more of an off hand comment than an actual offer to sell them. If you were local, I probably would sell them, but I'm not going through the trouble of boxing and shipping them and figuring out how to get paid. Sorry.

The cable threads through the "handles" on the locking rails and then clips into the crossbars. This is a safety mechanism to prevent your rails from flying out the bed onto the road of they aren't properly clamped for whatever reason.
