The “infotainment” unit is garbage. This thing was probably $50 from China. Check out my thread on it

I agree with this, my 2019 F150 would always freeze, and now my wifes 23 Explorer and my 23 Maverick is acting up the same way the F150 did. It especially not cool when it’s the back up camera view that is freezing, could make for a dangerous situation.

Dang folks, it is an inexpensive truck designed for good mileage, a pleasant ride and a weekly trip to the dump. For under $22k. Forget about the glitches and desires for upgrades. Go for a full blown F-150.

EB owners seem to have a thing about "you should have bought an EB" in every thread, regardless of reason. Say non-sense enough it comes back at you. :p It's about as bad as the hybrid owners who talk down to EB owners over MPG. Both are equally annoying and adds nothing of value to the conversion.

I have a very good friend who purchased the hybrid……same color as my Ecoboost. I have nothing against hybrids.

Yeah, the hybrid is the only reason the Maverick made my shopping list. Otherwise the CR-V hybrid is more than sufficient.

I'm at nearly 15k and had my first real problem -- driver's door handle no longer responds to touch for locking/unlocking. Also having pitting on the windshield that's completely unexpected, like the truck is 10 years old with 100k miles. My guess is that it's the acoustic lamination, but we'll see.

Regarding the infotainment, my biggest gripe is the input lag. It's slow as my old dog after dinnertime, and I sometimes "double press" because it doesn't respond to my first touch. I think my first smartphone had a snappier response time.

Oh, and the lack of the seat memory is annoying. My '16 Fusion had that, and it was rather nice when my wife had to borrow my car. One push, and I could remove the damage she did to my seat settings with exception of the rearview mirror. Funny how Ford removed that feature "due to the chip shortage" but didn't provide a rebate on the price as a result. ;)

I did read the manual, and I do watch what it does while in ACC, I'm just surprised at its behavior compared to my 2017 Mazda CX-5 that it replaced. My gripes are in line with a comparable priced vehicle (the Lariat Lux was not an inexpensive vehicle 33k+ttl, at least to me not inexpensive) memory seat was deleted because of chip shortage according to Ford.
By losing it's crap, I mean the infotainment looses connection with the phone and goes into a default mode where it looks for the phone and will not do anything else, then when it does find the phone, plays everything from the center channel speaker in the dash before fixing itself and going back to normal, not a big deal as it only happens once or twice every 3 or so months. The OTA software updates have been available on less expensive cars for years (think Nissan Leaf). The grips are just that, things I wish it had, no means deal breakers for me to keep it for another 100k miles.
Yes, OTA Updates would eliminate a lot of complaints. And I am hoping they will have A recall for the c v Joint Issue. I was aware of the issues with the enterpayment system/ Radio before I bought my maverick. I've had no major issues with mine so far.

I have XLT with basic infotainment system.

I added a wireless CarPlay adapter.
My phone connects and plays music and shows maps VERY quickly. Way faster than Wife's 2021 Toyota Venza that is mid-way to a luxury vehicle.

My maps are showing usually before I have my seatbelt on and truck into drive. The more expensive Venza takes 2-3 minutes for phone to connect to the head unit.

I find the Maverick amazing by comparison.

FWIW Venza is also a 2.5 liter 4 cylinder hybrid rates as 176 HP and is AWD.

Heavier vehicle, but more aerodynamic vehicle. Amazingly similar to Hybrid Maverick and we get exactly, and I mean exactly to the tenth (47.5) MPG week over week in both vehicles.

Venza is slightly better at high speeds.
Maverick is slightly better at slow speeds. In a mix, they are dead-on identical for MPG.

I have
1. The shake under acceleration (CV axels on order).
2. The black part of the dash (above the instrument cluster) is getting sticky (no, I do not use any cleaners on my dash) .
3. The infotainment system sometimes looses it's crap for 5 minutes (not cable or phone).
4. The adaptive cruise control doesn't always pick up cars on the right side of the truck, allowing it to accelerate when it shouldn't.
5. Wind noises have started to creep in, that were not there 2 months ago.

The other things are grips, I wish the adjustability of the drivers seat was more then the very basics of a 1970's Ford (and it had memory), the infotainment had a bigger display (especially for maps), the OTA updates could fix drivetrain and other updates w/out a visit to the dealer, you could use the back up camera while in forward motion for viewing, the wireless charger actually charged a modern phone, it had wireless android auto/apple car play so you could wirelessly charge your phone and not need a cable for data (that also charges your phone), and if you could pull the whipper blades out and they would stay in place for cleaning your windshield without scratching your hood every time.
In summary, this is a pretty nice little truck with lots of usefulness and comfort. I would recommend it to someone needing a small truck for daily driving and basic homeowner stuff. I have driven mine from Tennessee to Vermont and back and it was great, now that the newness has worn off, I'm still overly good with it, but some of the shortfalls are starting to show through. All in all, it has been a good vehicle and I would do it all over again.

If you want to pull your wipers out simply pull either one up and both will come up at the same time. Then they will clear the hood. When finished cleaning the windshield hold each one gently and let it go back to the windshield push either one back down and both will go back under the hood.

Try disabling then re-enabling Intelligent Access in the instrument cluster menu if you haven't already.

The Venza is saddled with the same bad infotainment system Toyota has been putting out for years, all the way to the top tier Lexus it has been bad (rental car experience). According to my nephew's friend this year 2023 infotainment is much improved in both responsiveness and usability. It always puzzled me why Toyota lagged so far behind when other Japanese manufactures did a decent job from the start (think Honda and Mazda), Toyota always had one of the best OEM stereos in the 80s, 90s, early 2000s.
