Was driving in to work this morning and out of nowhere my dash lit up with the red Collision Control Warning while beeping.

There was NO ONE around me when this happened, so unless a midget that I didn't see ran out in front of my truck to cause this, you can add this to the weird occurences of Maverick ownership.

Please, dear God...tell me that the Maverick isn't going to turn into the nightmare that my family experienced owning English cars back in the day...

Had you had your first cup of coffee before this????:coffee: Were you really awake???😴 Actually, it may have just been a BLACK CAT which crossed in front, and you may not have seen it. 🐈🐈 Wishing you good luck with the rest of your day!!!!!;):)

Had this happen twice when other motor vehicle operators suddenly cut in front of my vehicle on the expressway. However to happen on its own is odd. There is a sensitivity adjustment in the menu for that.

Something similar happened to me. My warning was that the collision warning was not working because the sensor was disabled. Pop up on the screen startled the heck out of me.

It was frost on the windshield blocking the sensor! It looks like you are in Florida so my guess is frost is not your issue.

HA! Thanks. I was properly caffeinated and awake. No black cats and (oddly) none of the usual gaggle of homeless people out and about today. Just a glitch...unless it was so severely delayed from 10 minutes earlier in the same morning when someone shot out from a side street across two lanes of traffic to get into the northbound lanes, but even that car wasn't close enough to me to warrant the system going haywire like it did.

No frost. Still too early in the season even here in Florida.

I've had one or two false notifications, but these occurred on a windy road where the truck sensed a parked car in a driveway while rounding the turn. I don't know if that was a possibility in your case.

This hadn't happened on my Mav yet. But my wife's previous vehicle (Mercedes C300) would do it about once a month going down a completely empty road.

i actually had the same thing happen to me last week. closest car was maybe a 2 to 3 car lengths ahead of me. hasn't happened since. got me to wonder how badly it would freak out if a bag blew onto my bumper and blocked the sensor

Turn off this dumb ass nannie. Problem solved. Just like the lane keep feature…serves nothing and very annoying.

I believe you can turn down the sensitivity.

Just spent two days in heavy Charlotte traffic last weekend, no false activation for me. I have had it save my tail once already when someone turned in front of me, so I'm keeping it switched on.

One random warning and OP is offending little people and summoning the holy spirit....

Dramatic (and offensive) much?

Don't have my Mav yet but the collision warning on my dash cam will alert when i pass under a bridge or sometimes when there is a tree overhanging the highway.

Interesting that you commented on this, because there is a walkway/small overpass located right about where the collision warning took place, but with a slightly-delayed reaction.

Both of my Ford vehicles have had this happen with no one in front of me and no cars around me. Gives me 0 faith in the system to actually work in an emergency.
