I’m looking for a set of new tires. I love the aggressive looking tread pattern of all terrains but they serve no realistic purpose for me. I almost never hit dirt roads with my FWD Eco Mav. So I’m curious what cool looking tires are out there. They don’t need to be fully street dedicated but should prioritize street driving (street-ish). I came across the BFG trail terrains which I really like. Something a bit cheaper than BFG would be nice but not required.

I put Nitto 421Q 235-65-17s on my XLT after the Continentals kept getting cut on my dirt road.

They have a slightly more aggressive tread pattern without being AT and have a 75,000mi wear warranty.

You might go with the 225 size since the 235s are 108 load range and are a bit heavy for a mostly street driven tire.

I love my Falken Wildpeak A/T's. I went with 245-65-17's, gained an inch in ride height, marginal MPG differential and living in SE MI I feel way more comfortable with winter coming!!

Thanks for this info, looks great. Can I put these on my 2022 Maverick EB XLT without any rubbing or adjusting suspension? Like to gain 1" in height & better traction.

245/65/17 tires are one inch larger in diameter than the stock 225/65/17. When you increase tire size diameter only half of that amount in gained in ride height. So in this case half an inch of ride height.

I’ve read here on the forums that you can go up to 245/65/17 without rubbing. Any larger would likely lead to rubbing.

Wildpeak Trails.

You may not rub higher than 245/65R17 with some sizes, but the sacrifice in MPG and drivetrain strain isn't worth it. Also, yes, the 245/65R17's only get you roughly half an inch more.

Wildpeak trails/AT3W's in 235/65R17 for the win. It's the answer you will see repeated on these forums for a lot of good reasons. Trails are perfect for the FWD folks looking for all terrains.

General Grabber HTS60. Personally I'd go with 245-65R17 (29.5"). Plus, in that particular size you get the raised white letters.

Zero chance of rubbing!!! No need to adjust suspension height.

I wasn't either actually but love the look of the larger tire IMO.

Nokian Outpost APT. Good "aggressive" look but still relatively low rolling resistance to maintain fuel economy.

Hankook ATM - I was looking for a mild All terrain and found these. 265/60/18 largest tire that will fit stock suspension, no rubbing. Bronze 18x8 wheels & tires are available for purchase.
