I've been obsessing over tires for awhile now but pretty much had everything figured out. However, since reconsidering the direction I plan to take my truck, it throws my tire selection back into the air.
I've shifted my focus towards a solid street truck setup, with optimum on-road dry and wet traction/stability being the chief focus (a lot of rain here), along with the tire not being too heavy (a little heavier than OEM is fine). Having said that, I do still plan to use my truck for travel and road trips to areas that include dirt/gravel roads and light snow so the ability to shrug off those conditions and be at least somewhat resistant to puncture is also important to me.
I have some potential ideas for selection but I wanted to pick y'all's brains and see if there were any favored choices or ideas from others. Tire aesthetics as far as tread pattern and sidewall are always a plus but it still takes a back seat to function and performance.
235/65R17 is the most likely sizing, though if, with a reasonable drop, I could get away with a 245/65R17, I might consider it.
