I saw a window sticker (digital) for an '23 XLT Maverick with tremor package states 22/28 mpg combo while fueleconomy.gov states 20/24 mpg combo for the tremor.

Can someone confirm which one is real? I'm looking to buy a Mav but if tremor package is the same mpg as the awd version at a good price I'll get the tremor.

Thanks!

I have the 2023 Maverick Tremor and am currently getting 23 mpg. Half of my driving is uphill and I use the trail guide option on my very steep downhill descent to my house. This causes my mpg to be a bit lower than it would if I didn’t use it but then I would be riding my brakes. I have to have the 4 wheel drive at times of rain and muddy roads so I love the tremor option.

Honestly it's more like 18 city and 30 plus on the highway. That city rating is zipping around and the highway is cruise control at 72mph.

It's the tires. Put a set of 235/65-17 Falken Wildpeak AT3W on any other AWD Maverick and you'll get the same mpg as a Tremor, stock.

And then if for some reason you were to put a set of Michelin Primacy on a Tremor, you would gain fuel economy and lose offroad performance, because you're trading a real all-terrain tire for an all-season.

25 MPG average that's what I am getting with my driving routine in my Tremor. I believe my window sticker had the rating at 20-24. That's includes city driving.

On my ‘23 XLT FX4 (with Eco Mode enabled via ForScan), I was pleased with my highway mileage averaging 30+ mpg.

I'm averaging 25 mpg in my Tremor. That's driving around town and state roads, mostly. I love my Tremor and given the opportunity, I wouldn't get anything else. Besides, it looks cooler than the other Mavs 😬

It isn't.

But some with a Tremor will get better FE than others with a std or FX4 AWD. There are many, many variables to FE results. All variables being equal other than Tremor vs. non-Tremor, the Tremor will be a couple mpg less on average.

I would pick the model that suites you best, vs worrying about a *potential* small gap in FE.

Currently getting 28+ on my Tremor which is mostly rural 2 lane roads and around town with a half mile gravel driveway. Not a lot of city driving. I have 2850 miles on mine with an overall 27.2 MPG since new. I would bet the difference in mileage between a tremor and an AWD under normal driving conditions is negligable.

this post is super confusing because since this forum existed, FE = First Edition. I know they are now 2 model years old, but can we please not use the abbreviation in reference to fuel economy? how about mpg or just typing fuel economy kthxbye :)
