Some on this forum have disputed what I say here, but here's the story on this from my dealer. First understand that the ordering period for the MY23 was exceedingly brief before it was filled up beyond what Ford thought they could build. Even that was wrong as some 2023 orders, placed last September 2022, were cancelled.

Anyway back to Adaptive Cruise Control, or ACC. I love it and had it on a few Ford Flex vehicles since 2009. In my last Flex, the 2019, the only way you could get it was on the highest end trim package, the Limited. That was a bit more costly than the SEL with our needed options and as much as I loved ACC, I didn't want the Limited just to get ACC. It was not a stand alone add on.

Fast forward to the ordering for the 2023 Maverick. As employees/retirees, we have an ordering guide and that's what we followed when placing the order with our dealer. We ordered everything we thought we needed for the ACC, including the CoPilot 360 and Luxury packages on the Lariat and whatever else.

However, and this is the big BUT: when the dealer went to place our order into their system, the ACC was "grayed out" and it would not let them order it. They tell us that none of their orders at that time came with the ACC. I trust my dealer. They do NOT add any fees above MSRP and fully respected our employee/retiree discount. They even delivered, on their own time and nickel, our cars. That's right, they drove them 600 miles down here from Michigan. We've had three delivered that way in the past three years. My Maverick just two weeks ago. A fourth, well we wouldn't do that to them so we're meeting them half way in WV in a few days to get our 2023 Escape Hybrid.

Others have ACC on a 2023 Maverick. I will miss it for sure, but our dealer says they could not place an ACC order in the build system at the time they entered the order. I have no reason to doubt them. The excuses from Ford corporate about chips, supply chain, even trucking shortages are non-stop.

The moment the order banks opened David Bagby at Tommie Vaughn Ford called me to walk the order in with him. He e-mailed the order guide and I was the first one to catch that the 360 Assist package MUST be added to get what I wanted. We went over that together then he went into the computer to put in my order.

The Co-Pilot 360 Assist package was there, not "grayed out". Don't know how it could be grayed out, the package is either there to input or it is not. You cannot "force" codes into the order system. Even so, if you knew there was a problem when putting in the order....why was it not followed up with and fixed? David and I knew there would be a lot of confusion about this....and wow that has come true. The problem is that, while anyone can make a mistake, how you fix it matters. Dealers had plenty of time to fix this problem. Those that did not are making any number of excuses.

🤓 Thank you. Seems chip shortage drove some changes in builds. These changes not communicated to dealership. If so, obviously poorly. I don’t blame the dealership, Ford corporate actions seem very close to criminal. I also noted no price reduction for missing items? Presently, I am charged over $1,000 for ACC option addition. To be installed. Dealership will install free. Twice the bad Ford corporate deed is done. Maybe trice, purchase also included $2,000 plus accessory addition, which was included by original customer order. So I was told?
The dealers ALL received the same document from Ford that was posted here in the MTC somewhere between Sept 2022 and November 2022. Some dealers didn't bother to read it; some customers didn't find out if they didn't see it here.

Blame the dealership...that's where the blame falls if you were not here back then to learn directly, from one of the GREAT dealers who shared the memo with us here in MTC.

Exactly what seems to have occurred. Chip shortage drives build changes during year. Different experiences by customers And dealerships. Unknowingly for the most part. Something stinks?
What seems to have occurred is some dealers did NOT READ info from Ford that the 360 pkg was split into two packages and did not properly update the order as required by Ford. Ford also should have either included both packages on rollovers (at new increased prices) or required that buyer acknowledge through dealer that the 360 assist options were not desired at new prices and sent notice to those buyers that Ford had email addresses or by snail mail!

🤓 When my children misbehave at school it is my responsibility. For the bad actions and resolutions. Improper resolution exists for me for I purchased a miss represented product.

I don’t blame dealerships. In my previous occupation I installed and maintained new equipment on a regular basis. I could not be familiar with all. If something was important for me to know, the sales person would personally tell me. Usually over lunch. Ford Corporate owns all the the existing and evolving mis deeds.

I see the problem, Ford lacked a third hand to get dealers attention.

Ford Maverick Adaptive Cruise dropped on 2023 Lariat giphy3

@Space while I agree with you on a parents responsibility a dealer hardy applies as a child tho yours is childish if blaming Ford for a lack of their own due diligence.

So the dealer is responsible for misrepresentation and should offer to install 360 assist free of charge at lunch by and with the sales person?

🤓 Code is written and not fixed. Gray Out is easily implemented, on and off anytime. I managed user input GUIs for a living. This is the WAY.

New owner and site user wondering how wide spread is the misunderstanding of Adaptive Cruise on the 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat. Many be unaware. This option will auto slow and speed up per a pre set distance of cruising vehicles in front of you. It seems to be standardly included in past and now future builds, as it should be and was on my low end Toyota Camry LE Trade in. Also on our Highlander and on most all our family vehicles. I asked on purchase if it was included, for no vehicle sticker provided. Sales person and all at dealership thought it was included. I provided info from manual and vehicle pictures because I could not find a way to turn the Adaptive cruise control on. They discovered 360 package evolved into 360 Assist Package, which I did not have after all. 360 in my mind and obviously others, implies it is included. l have heard of others havIng similar experience and wondering how wide spread this phenomenon?
This happened to me but I realized I can live with out now having the truck for 2 months. Plus there was a price increase but the items removed were not charged. If I remember correctly, the price increase was for being an EB. Now the Hybrid has the increase. Cruise control is very smooth without the adaptive. The lane centering system is impressive. I tested it and it guided me back to center (It was more like pingpong) and gave the alert to put hands back on wheel. Rear sensors I do wish it had, for backing up to items… but I am happy it has cross traffic/pedestrian alert. I wasn’t aware I had it until someone drove past from the right and the truck alerted with a loud tones and the right mirror light came on (the two little cars). Oh yeah, and arrows on the radio signifying which direction the vehicle is coming from. I’m very impressed with the safety features they did leave for the 23s. Hope this helps.

So you have access to Ford's internal network and know for a fact how it is set up? You might be surprised at how it REALLY works in THAT system.............
Ford's systems are NOTHING like you see on the internet.....

🤓 The dealership is the child that is miss behaving. This instance and others. During our truck shopping our local dealership in Brandon, had service Maverick vehicles for sale with hundreds of miles for at new prices. New Mavericks $10,000 above MSRP.

not during the year. this change was clearly shown in the MY23 Maverick ordering guide, and all dealers were informed, AND all '22 rollovers were recreated by Ford as '23 and then dealerships were instructed to review and adjust for any package changes.

100% on every dealership for who missed this on a 22->23 rollover. What everyone has said about being informed and making sure that your '23 order had 360 Assist is correct of course; you always should be informed and there's no better place for it than here on MTC.

BUT

Dealers knew. All the good ones dealt with it.

🤓 Another representation of miss deed by Ford Corporate. This is want I was seeing and hearing from others. Even Ford sales person in Port Charlotte who purchased a Maverick ended up re ordering and waiting two years for desired product.

I went through same exact experiences, although my expectations were high because packaged named co-pilot 360 and, of course, I was told I had an option I did not have.
