New owner and site user wondering how wide spread is the misunderstanding of Adaptive Cruise on the 2023 Ford Maverick Lariat. Many be unaware. This option will auto slow and speed up per a pre set distance of cruising vehicles in front of you. It seems to be standardly included in past and now future builds, as it should be and was on my low end Toyota Camry LE Trade in. Also on our Highlander and on most all our family vehicles. I asked on purchase if it was included, for no vehicle sticker provided. Sales person and all at dealership thought it was included. I provided info from manual and vehicle pictures because I could not find a way to turn the Adaptive cruise control on. They discovered 360 package evolved into 360 Assist Package, which I did not have after all. 360 in my mind and obviously others, implies it is included. l have heard of others havIng similar experience and wondering how wide spread this phenomenon?

Lots of dealers and customers failed to note the 6 items deleted from the 2022 Lariat Luxury packages. Ford didn't seem to realize how inept some dealers were.

The 360Assist contained three items: Evasive steering, rear parking sensors and Adaptive Cruise Control. The other items were bedliner, remote start and bedrails...which were idividual, standalone options for 2023.

I suspect that's why you can find a lot of rejected orders for sale where you can see no square ACC cover on the front.

Luckily, I read enough here last year from @fordvideoguy and others to get my dealer to do my 2022 to 2023 conversion order correctly. As far as 2024 goes, everything is in the Lariat. No luxury, no 360 packages...it is all there, just by selecting a Lariat.

Yeah it's funny, my 2018 Camry SE came with it, but for other manufacturers it's a high end option. Even the Jaguar I got as a rental didn't have it, so I researched and found out it is an option... on a luxury car!

Yes, Toyota has been on the leading edge of making all the latest safety suite standard on their vehicles. I believe, Ford thinking that they could speed Maverick production, separated many features from the packages offered hoping they could make digital chips and other supply limited items go further. Most options were still available to buy separately but, it was real easy not to get the 360 Assist option if you didn't pay close attention.

If I hadn’t been in this forum I would not have realized ACC was not included on my 2023 Lariat after falling in love with it on my ‘22. Fortunately I was able to add it to my order before it was built otherwise I would have kept my ‘22! The members here are so helpful!

🤓 Thank you. Seems chip shortage drove some changes in builds. These changes not communicated to dealership. If so, obviously poorly. I don’t blame the dealership, Ford corporate actions seem very close to criminal. I also noted no price reduction for missing items? Presently, I am charged over $1,000 for ACC option addition. To be installed. Dealership will install free. Twice the bad Ford corporate deed is done. Maybe trice, purchase also included $2,000 plus accessory addition, which was included by original customer order. So I was told?

Exactly what seems to have occurred. Chip shortage drives build changes during year. Different experiences by customers And dealerships. Unknowingly for the most part. Something stinks?

The ACC on the Toyota that I rented would not take you to a complete stop. It would slow you down to about 15mph and then just turn itself off. it really surprised me the first time I experienced it. thankfully I always pay attention and quickly hit the brake before rear ending the car Infront of me.

This is one of the reasons I picked the F150 over the Tundra. Ford's ACC lets me keep it activated in stop and go traffic.

On my Maverick that I ordered I did not see the need for going up in trim for the feature because it will not be the car we go on long trips in or into the big city with.

🤓 I appreciate the difference as I have learned it through this mess. But I am a conservative driver. Stop and go feature would be great to have, but not nearly as much as ACC. This safety Technology exists and should exist on all vehicles today, like seat belts. But, But , But do not rely on this so called collision proof tech. Our Toyota Highlander got hit from rear ( in shop now) by a Volkswagen who’s driver was leaning on this technology for casual city driving. Not fool proof! I think insurance companies are backing away from associated discounts. Too many crashes evolving that would not exist otherwise.

I'm a '23 driver who wanted ACC but dealer didn't click enough boxes. They also missed the trailer hitch sigh!

I learned to use ACC with stop and go in a 2020 Escape. The only hiccup I ran into is it would sometimes fail to immediately resume from a dead stop but a touch of the gas pedal always corrected that without reset. This was over months of tri weekly trips in and out of the metro Cleveland area during high traffic times. It took some time to get comfortable with it but never took it for granted.

Other car makers make good stuff but you'd be a fool to assume any one of them has a lock on the best systems. Ford has been optioning ACC on premium models since 2010 if not earlier. If there were any inherent issues with the system it would be internet legend by now.

Most generic issues with ACC, all brands
Bad weather that affects road visibility.
Moisture on the inside or outside of the windshield.
Blocked or dirty radar sensors or cameras. Happened to me once, slushed up and auto disabled.
Poor lighting.
Or in other words environmental.

I was heavily involved in the ordering of new vehicles at a Ford Dealership for some time.

Ford gave Dealers all they needed to know about ordering the 2023 Lariat Maverick. Including quite plain information that the ACC, rear parking sensors, evasive steering were in a SEPARATE package that would have to be added. Co-Pilot 360 Assist. Where Ford could have done a lot better is changing the names of these packages so not so easily confused.

The exact same thing goes on every time a new model comes out. First thing I would do is go to the column in the Ford information that tells you exactly what packages/combinations have changed.
Even if this is figured out a couple days later, simply do what is needed to fix it. When you build the vehicle in Concepts you can cross check the order guide to make sure everything is like it should be.

While I have used and like the 360 Assist package cruise features, I added it for the rear parking sensors. I simply love those!

I'm really glad (and surprised) your dealer has stepped up and making it right for you. I don't think 360 Assist is a cheap install after the fact. I know the $1000 will go a long way toward his expense but, probably fall well short of his cost. There are many others in the situation on this forum and this is the first time I've heard of the dealer stepping up like this.
