I know you guys are stating "I talked with my dearer" or I texted with my salesman" as a statement that the info was sourced from an authority.
But there is no one less informed about the Maverick's options, sales procedures or processes than a dealership salesperson. I don't know why that is or how that happened but the world has changed.
Dealers have always exaggerated or even outright lied before but now seem to have taken it to a new level.
Maybe it's that nobody really wants to work anymore or learn about their products or they are noit making much on the Maverick.
But when I hear "My salesperson said..." I just discount everything after that.
I know that sounds jaded and cynical but it's the truth.

Even if they know their allocations or what they sold they have no reason to tell you - unless it's something they feel you want to hear.

I was curious and text my sales guy to ask how MY24 orders went for them so far.

They are one of the largest Ford dealers in Central Ohio and his response was, "including MY23 rollovers, we have just under 100 orders for MY24 - which is the allocation estimates Ford has given us - you can place an order but you likely won't get one"

Demand is still there in Central Ohio at least.
Those allocation estimates were based upon Ford receiving similar Maverick retail order numbers to the previous two years. With less than 50K orders is the order bank, I'm sure many dealers will end up getting more than their original allocation estimate.

My main sales rep at my local Ford dealership told me that she’s only had 7 orders so far. Last year they 60 in the same time period. This is the entire dealership, 7 orders. I know it’s antidotal but that’s pretty shocking. What are you all seeing?

I may have been right…Only the official numbers will tell though.

We definitely don't need another video to tell us this. LOL.

HMMM.. My dad used to get a new vehicle every two years. Would he be a flipper?
My dad did that often on his pickups in the 60's-70's. He only lost a few hundred each time. Back then vehicles only had a 1 year warranty.

If you're starting with a vehicle that was paid off and only out that money every few years in amounts to about a $200/mo car payment and really not bad to keep a new vehicle in the line up.

That few hundred to your dad is a few thousand today but again, pretty reasonable after the initial investment in the first vehicle.

Wouldn't recommend it to someone with a car note who will only get further and further away from their goal of paying it off.

The last vehicle I traded in was an F150. Kept it 5 1/2 years, and lost $6,500. I lost under $1,200 a year, and that was 2018. Not bad.

ha! me too. Actually kind of hoping it takes a while to give us time to decide what to do about my stupid Kia that needs a new engine. Kia is making us do all sorts of 1000 mile tests before they will act, and with me only driving less than 5000 miles a year, it's taking FOREVER to go through the official new engine process, even with the Kia Class Action lawsuit settlement. Need to get through all that before deciding to sell it, trade it in for the truck or keep it as a car for my teenagers.
We really liked our Kia Soul but were afraid of future engine problems so Carmax took it off our hands for a good price ( a 2016 cream puff with only 30k miles ). But glad to get rid of that dirty gas direct Kia engine in exchange for the clean burning hybrid.
