My main sales rep at my local Ford dealership told me that she’s only had 7 orders so far. Last year they 60 in the same time period. This is the entire dealership, 7 orders. I know it’s antidotal but that’s pretty shocking. What are you all seeing?

I may have been right…Only the official numbers will tell though.

I wondering if people are reading reviews of hybrids and discovering all the recalls and some build quality complaints from current owners? Bedore I buy any vehicle I would read these types of issues and would stay with Toyotas, preferably....or even Honda. Never had a any problems with either.

Here's hoping!!! Though the Feds raised rates .25% today and media is reporting they'll likely raise them again in Sept. 😠 given I likely won't take delivery until sometime in Oct.
HMMM.. My dad used to get a new vehicle every two years. Would he be a flipper?
If you drive vehicles with high resale and don't put a ton of miles on them, trading every two years might not be a bad deal at all. For one affordable monthly payment, you can essentially drive a new vehicle every two years for life.

There were no special rates for Maverick orders last September, so Ford will only honor rates in affect at time of delivery.
The special rates were price protection for those that rolled over from a prior year…I thought…I ordered a ‘22 in ‘21, it was never made, I re-ordered in ‘22 a ‘23 and got a $2,750 price protection certificate which they send to the dealer after sale since the price went up that much from year to year…It was an awesome perk, until I found out the dealer was going to mark up my order $11,000 -Calling it a E-Commerce fee.

Boy was that a bad investment😂 hence the saying “if I had his money, I would burn mine”

I meant special APR's like the 0.9-1.9% APR finance rates that were available through January 2022ish.

Is the $11k e-commerce fee why you haven't picked up your vehicle yet? Is Honolulu Ford the dealer with deceptive business practices?

Yep, I asked them to make a deposit when I did the order in ‘21, they said no need. Then when I got the window sticker, I went Great! That is affordable. Then I went in and they said my MSRP $29,850 (with a price protection of $2,750 for Ford making it $27,100) was a Dealer price of $41,000!!

@lajlmt I'm so sorry Lance that really sucks, especially given how long you've waited.
Would they negotiate at all? (Not that you should have to pay anymore than MSRP)

It is over water right now, I did not want any surprises. Someone else here mentioned Honolulu Ford was shady. I found out it was the same sales person who has done nothing to keep me informed, wasn’t answering my calls. I called Ford directly and they told me the truck was built and shipping now! Then I started following the ford website since the dealer seemed to not have any information, would not use vinview to track. I went directly to the sales manager and found out that the markup was $41 k and that they would take my protected price as part of the “deal”. The dealer also made a $395 undocumented error in Honolulu Fords favor, not mine.

The FED is likely raising interest at their meeting today. If Mavericks start setting on the lots like Buicks and Rams, low interest rates are likely. Until then... Navey Federal Credit union was still at 4.74% for 60 months last week.
My FCU is 6% I have to get a loan because I can’t sell my car until the Maverick comes, I will just pay off early, but damn, 6% loan and they “give you” 1% on your savings…it’s not the feds, its the banks, they are taking every opportunity to cash in on people’s misfortunes.

@lajlmt I am still waiting for my truck to be built. I ordered through Granger Ford in IA. Granger has proven themselves to be an upstanding dealer time and again with multiple members of this forum.
I saw the other thread about the $6k mark up a piece for 2 trucks that the member was getting from Honolulu Ford. Also saw your comments in that post. I'd hoped you'd been able to work something out.

There are a few savings accounts online that are paying 5% and more...5.75% for CDs from nationwide credit unions you can join from anywhere. NASA Federal Credit Union is pretty much the leader in rates today...5.75% APY for a 9 month CD..

Ford did everything it could so they could meet demand. By raising prices and making the hybrid an option people are thinking twice. The price now is competitive to the ranger and a some other larger trucks.
Personally I still believe the for an urban buyer it is a good buy. If you don’t haul heavy stuff or pull a heavy trailer what more do you need.
the truck is 100% easier to park. The fuel economy is about 15 mpg better on the highway. Why not go with a Maverick?

I was curious and text my sales guy to ask how MY24 orders went for them so far.

They are one of the largest Ford dealers in Central Ohio and his response was, "including MY23 rollovers, we have just under 100 orders for MY24 - which is the allocation estimates Ford has given us - you can place an order but you likely won't get one"

Demand is still there in Central Ohio at least.
