I ordered a 24 Maverick XLT, FX4 and 4K towing back in July. I just realized it only has a Am Fm radio. No other option for satellite radio. Who in gods name made this decision at ford. I don’t understand why?

Not only that, the radio reception is horrible. I live in the country and I can't pick up doodly squat on the radio. Stations I used to get in my other vehicles are just static in the Maverick. I actually wish it had a CD player, as appalling as that might sound to some 😬

Just use XM via your phone and bluetooth.

How could this be? Doesn’t the ‘24 model have Sync 3? I believe XM radio is included with Sync 3.

Using XM on your phone with Bluetooth is fine as long as you have service. This whole issue is like going back in time. It makes no sense in todays tech world. And I don’t understand half of it to be honest.

It is a bit disheartening about the radio. As an old dude (57) , I have tons of CD's and would loved to have played them in the Maverick! I have the XM on my phone and use that for listening to tunes. Maybe, someone will make an aftermarket CD player to install, one day . Crutchfield offers none, and doesn't recommend replacing the stock radio .😔

You can get external CD players that plug in via USB.

I see you're in PA. I'm in Maryland/Virginia and make ~10 trips to Erie (~1k mile round trip) , Carlisle, Horsham, and York County a year. I don't recall a single time losing reception. I have (paid) Sirius on a few other vehicles and by virtue of that have Sirius at no additional cost on my cell phone.. Sirius, Nav, messaging, voice messaging, hands free calling, etc.. all worked perfectly on my '22 XLT Lux and now my '23 XLT Lux.. I was skeptical at first not having resident Sirius and Nav in my Mavericks, but it is a non-issue for me...

I actually purchased both a wireless adapter and a wireless charger that I've never used and are NIB. For me, rather than plugging in those (2) devices, I just use a single short black cord with a '90* right' adapter and plug my phone in. Simple, clean, and it works perfectly...

Good luck

Most cars don't come with CD players any more because most people don't use them any more.

The last two cars I had did have CD players, but the only time I ever tried to use them was to see if they worked, when I first bought the vehicles.

I put all the CDs I knew I would ever play, onto my phone and play them in the car from the phone. Much easier to have your whole music library available in one place and searchable. I also use shuffle-play a lot.

I never use the "radio." I'm 69, BTW.

Because you bought a low cost vehicle is why. Next time research before you buy if something like XM is high priority for you.

I play my I-pod(yes, I know) in the Mav but I do love radio and the radio reception and functionality is really sad. Satellite radio is not the answer here too many trees and hills
