When I try to change stations i get an error message something to the effect "Unable to complete request. Please try again later" If I try to use the number pad to select a station manually seven of the ten numbers are grayed out. I can only use the 1, 8 and 9. I have tried turning the radio off and on even the engine off and on but it is stuck on Yacht Rock. If I switch to FM the XM station presets remain across the bottom of the screen and I get white noise.

Is this a dealer worthy problem as I suspect? or is it XM? or is my radio just screwed up?
Anyone else have this problem? I have less than 1800 miles in the truck!

I'm assuming since you're only getting 1, 8 and 9 available, you're trying to tune an FM station (i.e. they all only start with those numbers). This is normal.

If you prompt the Ford assistant (single quick press of the voice command button) and just say "FM 101.5" (or a station you know you can receive), does it tune correctly?

As far as saved stations, if you've saved any station (AM, FM or XM), they will all appear on the presets bar on the bottom regardless of which band you're currently listening to.

Might be an issue with your XM subscription if that's where you cannot change stations.

Maybe Sync needs rebooting/restarting?

Turns out my trial membership expired and so did my favorite stations. Now I'm stuck with basic service.

I recently dropped two vehicles from Sirius XM in favor of streaming from an app on my phone. Because of the complexity of getting a radio to tune to a favorite I spend a lot of time debugging the infotainment system to get where I want to go. Seems fairly basic that is what may be missing is a Home Screen that lays out all media options and then we pick what we want and it goes there with a toolbar of saved stations. If you asked me today how to get there, I could not explain it without hunt and peck.
