Don't bank on that. Especially if you pay a dealer markup for a stock unit.
Have been guaranteed MSRP in writing on anything I buy including my original order

There are 5 Mav's sitting on various dealer lots from XL right up to a fully optioned Lariat with FX4 package within 6 miles from me. I have already put a deposit down a week ago on the exact build I wanted but if I sacrifice colour and add a couple of things I don't need I can grab one from a local dealer tomorrow.

All this talk on here about 5 month plus wait times is a bit off putting
I wouldnt mind getting a dealer ordere Maverick if it makes sense & has features I want. There are 3 total within 100 miles of me. All are white xlt with fx4, moonroof(almost $1000) & the upgraded wheels(almost $900). Why they didnt get options people want like 4k towing, ford360 or xlt lux package idk.

There are a few Mavs in my area recently but all the dealers still have up charges on them due to "market value" so I don't look twice plus a few extra months will be good for me. Although I have a hard time being ok with my build I kinda of want to change it already lol

Almost every mav I see on the lot doesn't include 360 but has things like a moon roof and if baffles me. I feel like 360 would be a bigger draw

In my city the MAVS on dealer lots still have obscene markups. For some reason there seem to be quite a few with 300 miles for sale, I'm assuming someone who bought it to flip. Local dealer has 2 of those right now with $10K markups over MSRP.

Let's just say you are lucky if you can get a truck in 5 months. I've been waiting for 355 days for an XL and have not even been scheduled yet! I'll be lucky to get one in 15 months!

Think of Wichita, Kansas as an island. The largest city in Kansas, just 10 miles out from Downtown, there are cattle ranches. I know, I'm one.

For 200 miles around there is nothing but farmland and pastures. If you get to the top of a hill here, you can see 50 miles in all directions. Nothing.. but prarie grass. You have to travel 200 miles to Kansas city, Tulsa or Oklahoma city. 400 miles gets you Denver or St. Louis..

So there are 2 Ford dealers, 2 chevy. I think 1 Cadillac, 1 Mercedes.. and they are all in lock step.. I'm not sure but the 2 honda, or Kia dealers are actually owned by 1 company..

I am forever buying parts and such on the internet because . Here.. they have a lock on if you want it pay our price.. Last winter i needed a heater blower moter for my gal pal's Chrysler Sebring..... The dealer would not sell me one.. They said that they cannot guarantee electrical parts. They wanted $98 for the part and $150 to install.. Appointment in 2 weeks only way they would do business with me.

Well I ordered Rockauto.. delivered to my door step in 3 days, I got the heater blower for $43 including UPS, 3 screws under and behind the glove box and I installed it in 15 minutes.

When it came to looking for a Maverick.. FORD.com you can check dealer inventory anywhere in the country.. However many of the dealers say the Maverick is in stock on the lot when you call but 5 hours later and 200 miles when you show up, you find out -they tell you it's not been delivered by FORD yet and it's all ready sold. They then wan tto show you something else on their lot.

At Ford.com, you plug in a zip code and specify a range in miles. it will then show you the inventory for every dealer in that area..

i selected 48101 zip code.. 4 miles from Ford World head quarters. Metro Detroit is more populus than all of Kansas. There is may be 50 Ford dealers within 50 miles of Detroit.

I perused the on line vehicles this past september and there were at least 40 mavericks on the lots in metro Detroit. I narrowed it down. Called my sister in Detroit who retired in
June and sent her out on a scouting mission to verify the 2-3 I was interested in.. My sister -all her life was in medical sales and pre-covid was a salesman at a Caddilac dealership for 10 years.. She knows all the tricks, I do too..

She checked out the dealership, negioated a price for me, and i said I'll drive up, see what they'll give me on my trade and either we sell my car, roll it into the deal or I leave it with her, to sell and i drive the maverick home. My Car, 11 years old never saw salt in Kansas, all highway miles, on eowner. So I drove a thousand miles to Detroit and picked up the Maverick. They insulted me with an offer on my trade. So i sold it to my nephew for $5000 more than the dealer offered me; which was $4000 less than CARMAX had the same car priced on thier website.

Breakin for my maverick was driving it from Detroit to Kansas in 17 hurs almost non stop. I was made in Detroit born and raised... I figure I saved $3500 by buying it in Detroit, not Kansas.
A dealership is mearly a delivery point for a vehicle. Henry Ford back in the 1920's realized that people wanted to come to the Highland Park factory to pick up their FORD at the end of the assembly line., and handling the public was too time consuming for his employees. So the network of dealers became reality.

Dealers only deliver the vehicle. only a dealer can order one. Just have a problem, and they give you lip service.. Ask the guy that his new car has paint peeling at 250 miles ..or the famous coke bottle rattle in a door.

For those of us that lived near Ford World Headquarters , quite often there some guy out front with his FORD and signs proesting that FORD has sold him a lemon. Do you think he'd be there if the Dealer took the time to reolve the issue. States that have Lemon laws and force buy backs, do you think they would be there if the Dealer took care of you like they promise.. GET REAL.....

I'm sure you've heard of the words "Buyer Beware"...
i'm a realist, and think mostly an optimist, but like I said a dealer is only a delivery point. They will forsake you. They are not your friend. You owe them no alliegance. Your worse nightmare, they could care less they will not loose sleep after the sale.

Final story.. New Car.. 14 years ago, less than 5000 miles. Took it to the dealer -A truck had thrown a stone..cracked the windshield . They said their body shop does not do windshields, they use Safelight. So much for the promise of a loaner if work is needed. So I had to take it to safelight across town, make an appointment and return a day or two later. .. The mechanic who changed the windshield and was bringing it around. He had a screwdriver in his back pocket. He sat in the drivers seat and ripped a hole in the back of the seat with the screwdriver.. Then after admitting the damage, they asked me to pay my $100 insurance deductable. You know what I said...

Oh yes, they "fixed it". They sent me to an upholstery shop, not the dealership. There they ordered a new seat back, then when it came in 2 weeks later; I sat in the upholstry shop for 5-6 hours waiting for them to put the seat back together.. They would not give me a loaner or a rental.. I had to take a "vacation" day, So did the dealer take good care of me??? Did the dealer "take care of any problem you may have after the sale" as promised???

I lived in Garden City Kansas for a while. Wichita was about 3.5 hours away and the closest "big city" we would go to now and then.

Denver 7 hours
OKC 5 hours
Kansas City 6 hours
Tulsa 6 hours
Albuquerque 7 hours

It was truly feeling like the middle of nowhere in Kansas. At least we had a little airport and they ran a flight every day back and forth to Dallas. Of course the return was late in the evening and about half the time it seemed the pilot was up on hours about 20 minutes before boarding and we'd get delayed to the next day. Spent a lot of nights at the holiday inn express DFW lol.

I just picked up a '24 Lariat demo for a little less than MSRP. A few miles on it....3300 but still carried full warranty.
I love it !

Traded in my 2021 Base model Bronco Sport for my off the showroom floor 2024 2.0L AWD Lariat in hot pepper red.
Paid $38,000
In December of 2020 the base Bronco sport was $ 29,600 out the door. That included the triple T, everything.
Got $18,000 for the 2021 with 58,000 miles on the clock. Still owed $8,000
Got pro rated on my BS extended warranty that was $2400. Got $ 1,080 back.
Threw that in the pot and
Bought a new extended warranty for $ 2060 to 100,000 miles. I added $2,000 down and paid outright for the new extended warranty.
Financed the rest. I’m retired,
I’m happy.

I haven't bought a new vehicle since '04 and haven't ordered one from a dealer since '97. I don't care, call me cheap, call me thrifty, I'm going to let somebody else take the new vehicle depreciation. Since the last new one in '04, with a couple of exceptions,, I've just haunted autotrader.com and other sites until I found what I wanted and have up to this point been very happy with what I've ended up with.

Personally, I think an extra eight grand on a never driven never tortured Mav was worth it.
Mostly because that new car smell lasted almost three days :D
