It amazes me that so many people on this forum label any type of criticism as unacceptable negative comments. If you post pictures to show off some modifications you have made, don't expect only loving, raving compliments. Some people may not like your modifications and may wish to express their opinions. If you can't take such criticisms, don't post!

Agreed! My gf is the same way, she has trauma triggers so any form of criticism her way and she goes nuclear. 🤣

When I was in high school a dorky guy had a clapped out 72 Nova 4-door. He had it painted green with white racing stripes and was as proud as can be with it. It looked good but it was a 4-door.

Several of us were out looking at it and I made some snarky comment about it being a waste of money on a 4-door. The guy's face fell.

A little later one of the guys approached me and told me I was being an azz. Said I should be embarrassed at my comments because that guy was proud of his ride and I had crapped on it. He was right, I took it to heart and I learned a lesson from that.

You can be nasty to people when they post stuff they are proud of to try and shame them or bring them down or you can just move on without commenting. Which choice you make ultimately shows your character.

If you choose the low road don't complain when people stop posting and the forum is dead.

The title is true .... on the internet .... expect anything!
" If you can't take such criticisms, don't post!"
-or- from another angle ...
" If you can't make constructive criticisms, don't post!"

Sitting behind a keyboard has made it all too easy
to crap on [people, places, things goes here].

Just because you can ... doesn't mean you should.

Constructive criticism is a thing ... it exist ... but not everyone has grasped it.
For those that have not ... "if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say anything at all" ..
or in today's speak... "STFU".

I would challenge anyone who feels the need to crap on someone's [people, places, things goes here] to explain why (constructively) ... or better yet ... link to a post that was self-created to compare.

The question i have in my head... "Would you tell someone the same thing if you were physically standing in front of them?".

If you are hurting, get help .... don't hurt others.

ok..i'm done with off topic for the week ..... going to get in my "it's better than yours!" Mav and
take a ride. :p

This post totally sucks! It isn’t even about the Mav. Just kidding. Keep posting people or I’ll have nothing to do on my phone!

Don't waste life on negativity.

If it comes my way, I evaluate if there's any truth to it. If so, what can I do better? Then I move on. If there wasn't any truth to it? I move on.

And I "TRY" to not send negativity other's ways. (I don't personally care for a LOT of the mods I've seen here but who cares? No point in typing anything.....)

I'm surprised to see such a post from someone who wrote "...or you can just move on without commenting."

Nobody mentioned being "nasty". The OP was about criticism.

Seriously tho, criticism can be hurtful. If a friend pulls out their phone and shows you a picture of their newborn child, do you tell how ugly it is or how you would have had one with longer hair or maybe a nice Ford logo tattooed on its cheek? No, you stand there and nod as they show you their new bundle of joy. It sounded to me like all Steve was trying to say. There are enough people out there wiling to use the anonymity of the internet to sh!t on someone else's pride and joy. Don't be one of them.

Responding to criticism is not an indication that some "can't take it". Responding with a retort, a rebuttal or a counter argument is to be encouraged. Responding with "you must not be allowed to criticize me", is just the opposite.

As to your analogy to commenting about a newborn child to commenting about a vehicle modification such as where someone covered their entire dashboard in purple shag carpet is absurd.

Finally, constructive criticism is not "....to shit on someone.." !

I hope no "snowflakes" have melted while reading this thread.
