Here is some fun

In the Ecoboost EPA application (Released 9/27) they stated this MPG on the Limitus values

1633716705013.webp

The test vehicle was a 2.0 Ecoboost 2020 Ford Escape
And this is the resulting MPG
1633719463734.png

Now in the Hybrid Application (Released 9/27) of a 2.5 hybrid Escape the numbers were this
1633716902429.webp

If these numbers are right, Ford is claiming 49 city and 42 highway.
The 2020 Escape has these numbers
1633719506772.webp

With those numbers I can understand why the EPA might have audited Ford, especially after the C-Max fiasco in 2012 and Ranger lawsuits in 2020

I don't think the city/hwy litmus tests are the same as the sticker city/hwy. The litmus tests are 5 cycles of testing, and I believe the final numbers are arrived at after they do some weighting etc.

Tim seems like a really nice guy, that said he is just another dealer with what we hope is inside information. I want to see a public announcement from a Ford executive. Take some responsibility & stop with the nasty government caused this . The epa can't test what Ford doesn't give them. I still think Ford took orders on a vehicle they couldn't produce. I'm approaching Fats Domino territory The thrill is gone. Lousy lauch Ford, the head of the Maverick team should be fired.
As has been stated....this truck seems to do better than the estimate and there is a good chance that the epa chose this one to actually be tested by them and let the ecoboost go by Ford

There are a lot of Hybrid orders that haven't been Scheduled. That's a LOT of Hybrids that will need to be Scheduled pretty soon if they are going to deliver June and July orders. I drew an arbitrary line but I'm not sure where you really draw the line though. They didn't say only one will be delivered (like some of you have mentioned). They didn't say all will be delivered in the fall of 2021. So where is the cut off? What is realistic? It's not my fault Ford screwed the pooch and didn't plan for more Hybrids than EB's. It's not my fault Ford can't get their crap together and get the eCVT's built. It's not my fault Ford can't get their design certified by EPA. So where does the line get drawn and by whom?
Want my second one?

And in the long run Ford can't afford either in promo or fines to be unaccurate. So what if that takes an extra month?

Because the EPA can basically select any new vehicle they want to test (even if it's only 1 out every 18 new cars), we're not able to figure out the odds that the Maverick was selected. All we know is, as Tim said, "EPA testing" is the reason for the delayed shipping. That sure sounds like the Maverick had been selected for confirmatory EPA testing.
Its Hyundai,Toyota,Nissan,Ram,Honda and GM telling the EPA to stick it to Ford. That way they can catch up on this Tsunami of small trucks that are being sold. Remember the 64 and a half Mustang? That caught everyone with their pants down?

When I first got on this Forum everybody was nice, helpful and friendly. Now everyone is at everyone's throats. What the hell guys and gals, this is like watching either of the right wing/left wing news. I come here to talk about something I am really stoked to get. C'mon man Hybrid,CVT,40MPG good looking and a friggin bed! For under 22 k (base) I picked the non poverty XLT LUX, I am at 26 and change.

MY HAPPY ZONE

Rant over. KUMBAYA

So what you are saying is that when you go to WaWa and order a coffee and you go to get it. They can tell you that your coffee is awaiting inspection, and you can't have it until it passes, but they don't know when that will be and your OK with that. But would it not of have been WaWa's responsibility to ensure the coffee be safe and available before they let you waste your time and possibly money on a product they can't provide! "Just Say'en"

And I'm not changing my order or my position. I just like to know what is going on by the people that should know. If they don't know then who is Flying the Plane??

But did WaWa say the coffee would be arriving this Fall? ;) (note the smiley face, this said with a grin)

All I know is, you go to jojo's and make a right.

Honestly though, I'm glad the EPA numbers are the hold up. I've worked with regulatory agencies and am currently in supply chain/logistics (not automotive), I understand that crap happens, people misunderstand, freight gets held up in ports, and salesman have no idea about operations.

Life is short, and the life of my current vehicle is coming to an end. I'm going to drive it until it dies, or my Maverick gets here. But for now, I can wait without the car payment...

I used WaWa as an example as the antagonist had a west coast address, I just wanted to make him to say WTF is a WaWa!!

My bottom line where else can you find a truck for 21k and 40mpg I’m ok on waiting, but I’m not blind to the fact that there is a problem with the EPA

My Canadian dealer said they should see hybrid coming “very soon”, as in this month. Is there any word of Canadian approval? Don’t even know what we call it tbh
