I knew my Mav would be out of standard warranty in the first year so I got the 60/150,000 ESP. I hope it'll be covered.

Usually when it’s where the motor and transmission meet, it’s a rear main seal.Did an oil change a couple of days ago at 67k miles. 10k miles since last oil change but oil life monitor still showed 25%.
I'm seeing oily wet area where the transmission and engine meet. It may just be bolts needing tightening but the bolts require a special socket. No big deal or should I get it taken care of?

Plus if you get it written up today for a complaint and it leaks again at 102,000 miles you can argue its still the same problem you took it in to the shop the first time and wasn't fixed properly. No paperwork and a major gasket fails and you're on your own. Even if it's been slow leaking for thousands of miles.Silver23 has a good point, take advantage of the warranty before you exceed it.
A transmission cooler is not a unique hybrid product so I would highly doubt it.If it's a part exclusive to Hybrids, wouldn't it be covered under the separate Hybrid 8yr/100k factory warranty?
Exactly which ESP did you purchase? There are 4 different levels of coverage. I'd buy one but I'm afraid that they will cleverly exclude all the stuff that's likely to go wrong. It's at the dealer today and they just called me. It's the transmission cooler that's leaking and IT'S NOT COVERED UNDER THE ESP!!! Really disappointed. What does the FORD ESP cover? I got the 5Yrs/150000.
I was quoted around $600. I should have looked more. Maybe all it needs is the bolt tightened. It currently has 84k miles right now. They are also doing the second fire hazard recall.

23S27? What do they plan on doing? No repair procedure has been announced (publicly) as of yet. Still expected in Q3-Q4 2023.They are also doing the second fire hazard recall.
Yes, it's for that recall. We're at the end of Q3 so maybe they have the repair procedure.23S27? What do they plan on doing? No repair procedure has been announced (publicly) as of yet. Still expected in Q3-Q4 2023.

It would have been okay because it was not really a leak. More like a sweat.Or, if it's livable just live with it?

I didn't know there were four different levels. It's from GRANGER MOTORS and did not include any type of maintenance.Exactly which ESP did you purchase? There are 4 different levels of coverage. I'd buy one but I'm afraid that they will cleverly exclude all the stuff that's likely to go wrong.
I've often heard "don't sweat the small stuff".It would have been okay because it was not really a leak. More like a sweat.

So the trans cooler sealing rings were leaking and not the trans cooler itself. Keep us updated on the fire hazard recall repair.Yes, it's for that recall. We're at the end of Q3 so maybe they have the repair procedure.
I have the Mav back but I just sent a message to my service advisor. It appears to me that labor and parts were billed twice.
Anyway, they replaced the SPECIAL SEAL, RING, and TRANSMISSION FLUID that drained when they removed the lines.
