Ford needs a web site that has the Maverick Owner’s Manual in a draft format so Maverick Owners can add/improve the information in a future edition.
Examples:
Page 99 mentions a rear lamp switch. There is NONE!

Page 99 has a photo of the two front lamp lens. There is no photo of the rear lamp lens and the instructions should state that one needs to press the back/rear side edge to turn it on and off versus pressing the edge. (not all edges work on mine)

Page 82 - :Locking the doors - Pressing 7-8 and 9-0 at the same time with the driver’s door closed will also lock the tailgate (if so equipped).

Page 99 of the 2023 Maverick Owners Manual does not mention a 'rear lamp switch'. Page 99 has a photo of the two front lamp lens. Exactly how many threads are you going to post on the same exact stuff? You post, someone answers your question and you abandon the thread. You're now up to 3 in less than 24 hours.

Ford (or any other OEM) is not going to allow you to edit their manual.... they don't need you to.

Page 99 does not mention a 'rear lamp switch'. Page 99 states "if you switch the rear lamps on through the overhead console" then shows a picture of the overhead console interior light switch. The multi-position lamp switch located between the two front ceiling lights is shown on the upper right side of page 99, it controls all 3 interior overhead lamps.

The rear lamp lens is hinged at the front, you press on the rear edge to turn on or off. The manual states to 'press on the edge" you really can't figure it out from there?

Pressing 7-8 and 9-0 locks the vehicle, (doors ...and... tailgate..)

It's not difficult.....

I completely read through the owners manual last month.
I highly recommend it.
I do wish people would read it instead of asking the same questions over and over on this forum.

However, there are a couple things it doesn’t mention. Don’t ask me what they were, I figured them out myself and don’t remember them exactly.

To your post:

The overhead rear passenger light does turn on and off by pressing the rear section. It does not work if the doors are open.

The keypad locking system, using 7-8. 9-0 works correctly on my Mav, just like the manual states.

I found that the XLT keypad command (5-6) described in the UM to unlock the tailgate is fiction. On my hybrid, the tailgate locks and unlocks with all the passenger doors.

I can't remember what the book says (it's been a while since I read it), but I would hope that was fiction. Pressing 5-6 would negate the security of the lock. Anyone would press that button and be in. Or, did you mean enter your code, then 5-6?

The manual clearly states this procedure to unlock the tailgate (after entering your PIN to unlock the driver's door) but it does not work on my XLT hybrid. The tailgate locks and unlocks along with the passenger doors when pressing 3-4.
