Chapman, not sure they have any deals for 24 though.Who is your dealer? 3% under invoice on a hybrid? Is it Granger? Thanks
Well - not a direct answer to your question but - they did say any 2023 orders not rescheduled to a 2024 would be subject to canceling after the 14th (Monday). So, I imagine no 2023 scheduling after that.Is today the day that Ford starts scheduling MY 24 Mavs?
The real question is why didn't Ford charge more in the beginning instead of letting the dealers rip people off so badly. I would have rather had Ford make a bigger profit and ramp up production with the funds rather than have dealers rape and pillage with no gain for buyers. Ford charging more might not feel good for those paying it, but since so many were willing to pay dealers ridiculous "Market adjustments" far above these increases, I would think Ford upping their prices far less would be more palatible, especially if it relieves the shortages that allow dealers to get away what they are doing. Just my 2 cents. My XL order went from $24,535 to $26,065. With $1,000 cash back, I am in the hole by $530.00. In 2023, the bed tie down rails were free with the sprayin bedlilner. So, $1,305.00 more for the truck and $225.00 for the bed rails. So Ford, I switched to Ecoboost and still didn't get a truck. Keep this up and you will lose a customer!
Ford marketing studies got a lot wrong on the Maverick:The real question is why didn't Ford charge more in the beginning
And they all still have their jobs and will go on to predict next year. That's the real sad part.Ford marketing studies got a lot wrong on the Maverick:
- Assumed 100K per year production would be plenty
- Assumed 60% EBs and 40% hybrids
- Assume they would be purchased primarily by younger buyers
Here's the problem with that.My XL order went from $24,535 to $26,065. With $1,000 cash back, I am in the hole by $530.00. In 2023, the bed tie down rails were free with the sprayin bedlilner. It is not in the favor of all buyers. For example, when I ordered the 23 XL the base price was $22,195 and shipping was $1,495. For 24 the base price is $23,400 and shipping is $1,595. Also, for 23, there was a $225 discount for the bed rail package that is not available for 24. In conclusion, a loss of $530 for the same truck.I think this works in the favor of all buyers. I wasn’t expecting this much. I was just hoping to get back the hybrid price increase.
But it’s not really the same truck…it’s a model year newer for that $530. Will the guy who walks into a dealer next June get the same deal you got?It is not in the favor of all buyers. You can argue this either way. The value on my 2010 Ranger is steadily going down while I wait on the Maverick which is steadily increasing in price. I had just as soon have a 23 that is new, as a 24 that is not yet built. Same truck, just a different year stamped on it. The price protection is not enough in my case to offset the price increases and the decline in value of my truck which I plan to sell. But it’s not really the same truck…it’s a model year newer for that $530. I feel your pain on selling price of my 2011 Ranger 4x4. But if I walked into a dealer this December, and he had identical Mavericks for sale, only one was a 23 and one was a 24. The 24 is $530 more than the 23. I’d take the 24, no question. I get your point. In a perfect world, we would have gotten our 23’s in the spring of 23. We would have been happy. At this point, I’d rather have one of the first 24’s than one of the last 23’sYou can argue this either way. WOW! This implies that there's people with MY22 orders that never got built and still didn't get a MY23 built either?! That's
