yep, and couldn't that be a promotional item for Ford, or do they address that?True. If 50% of the cars in the heavy traffic cities were hybrid there would be less pollution.

Here, yes. Not so much in the countries, China & Africa, where the metals needed to make the batteries are mined, smelted, and made into batteries.True. If 50% of the cars in the heavy traffic cities were hybrid there would be less pollution.
Shh. We don't talk about that. Here, yes. Not so much in the countries, China & Africa, where the metals needed to make the batteries are mined, smelted, and made into batteries.
extraction and processing of resources is generally not great for the environment. obtaining, creating and burning gasoline is worse overall.Shh. We don't talk about that.
Now apologize and go hug a tree.
That's hardly a settled debate. Despite what the UN, WEF, Greta, and the mainstream media will tell you, there isn't scientific consensus regarding the effects of increasing carbon dioxide emissions on the environment overall. Certainly increased carbon dioxide in the atmosphere isn't a positive thing, but it's not entirely clear how bad it is.extraction and processing of resources is generally not great for the environment. obtaining, creating and burning gasoline is worse overall.
The C-Max got changed from what it was to have been and it was ahead of its time. Since Ford has dropped all cars (except for Mustang) they need to do something about the EPA Cafe #. I'm not understanding why a Hybrid drivetrain isn't standard on all models.Ford had a miserable time selling C-Max Hybrids...but that is likely changing as the Maverick Hybrids showed folks that they don't have to have a Prius to get high mileage. I bought my 2017 C-Max Hybrid off the lot in 2018, and the small dealer still had several left to choose from.
Well if you aren't a lead foot you weren't trying to get better MPG, my best on my commute is 63 MPG.Don't feel bad. I had a Hybrid Escape and the best I usually got was 34-36 in winter with 39-40 in summer. And I don't have a heavy foot... it's just the terrain and location. I could probably squeeze 50 out of a prius... but it's not the vehicle I need.
The EB Mavericks is my favorite vehicle too. I think FORD knows if they were to make an AWD/4WD hybrid they would not be able to keep up and they are just pushing their cheaper to make stuff, which is still ICE related.
Also why I find these threads so funny. Like every location experiences the same thing. FWD without studded snows wouldn't even make it up my driveway for over half the year.

I can read just fine, however, you aren't very specific about where you live.
Come up to where I live and get it. Apparently you can't read. The terrain alone paired with the wind through it, and the climate does not allow hypermiling. One trip into town does great, at the speed limit. Coming back is what gets you.
The Escape Hybrid was AWD btw. And most people get around the same, even for the Maverick. Which tells you what? Your hypermiling is perfect scenario stuff and not relatable to the majority. So, cool story about your own commute. There is "trying" for some commutes and there is being the jackass going 20 under the speed limit on single lane rural highways to save literal pennies. I'm glad you are able to do it though. I bought the hybrid Escape to not have to worry about penny pinching at the pump. If I was worried about it, I would have sacrificed AWD and 4k tow for a FWD to put studded snows on half the year with the Maverick.
You can have your assumptions, it seems like you need them.
It doesn't matter. You argued a point I was relating to with a perfect scenario variable that is subjective to you and added the assumption I wasn't "trying".I can read just fine, however, you aren't very specific about where you live.
We can all hypermile short trips…Got a record the other day. Over 62mpg and I wasn't even trying. Love my hybrid! Last tank I got 608 miles out of it! 36.9 is good but that would be worse case scenario numbers for my hybrid.
