Wait, you've had a hybrid and it's been reliable?

But all the news on the forums says that you should have caught fire while rear ending someone because of the grabby brakes and the had shrapnel thrown at your face from the defective airbags....how can you truck be reliable?!?
I forgot to mention the fact that you can't have survived the winter snows without AWD.

LOL, I got lucky, I have the grabby brakes, and had the airbag replaced. I'm waiting for the Grabby Brakes 2.0 fix. But I smile every day to work.

I am always so impressed by these EB AWD mpg stories. While I can manage 30 to 32 mpg on the highway, I struggle to get 20 in town. I'm running slightly larger tires (245/65/17) but have never come close to any of the numbers I see on this forum. I have 12,000 miles on my 22 AWD FX4 EB. Beyond that, it's probably my favorite vehicle ever owned, and I'm almost 70!
Don't feel bad. I had a Hybrid Escape and the best I usually got was 34-36 in winter with 39-40 in summer. And I don't have a heavy foot... it's just the terrain and location. I could probably squeeze 50 out of a prius... but it's not the vehicle I need.

The EB Mavericks is my favorite vehicle too. I think FORD knows if they were to make an AWD/4WD hybrid they would not be able to keep up and they are just pushing their cheaper to make stuff, which is still ICE related.

Also why I find these threads so funny. Like every location experiences the same thing. FWD without studded snows wouldn't even make it up my driveway for over half the year.

You forgot to add getting rear ended in the process. Ha Ha.

Same, getting about 20 around town, but I am a little aggressive on the throttle.

When you did the milag

Did you get the same results doing math by hand? I had a Kia Niro and saw a display of 99 MPG but I never got better than 56 MPG. My dash displayed what I was getting at the present time. That changes all the time depending circumstances.
No, it’s always 1-3 miles higher on the display. Ford hasn’t been able to math for decades.

Wow, mine was a 98. It ran great but was rusting away. Only major repairs were a clutch and brake lines.
I’m in North Texas so we rarely get salted roads (even then it’s only the bridges) in the winter. Only minor surface rust where the paint flakes off, and the underside actually looks great. Our winters are relatively mild but the past 20 days of over 100 degrees has me seriously considering moving… 😡🥵🤬

I expected brilliant answers with many actual facts on Hybrid consumption of fuel and less pollutants escaping into the atmosphere...

This. My Subaru and Tacoma were off by decimals. Every FORD I've had recently has been as you mentioned. At least 2-3MPG difference.

True. If 50% of the cars in the heavy traffic cities were hybrid there would be less pollution.

Drove to 8 jobsites today and this was between 2 of them. Trying the L and slippy mode. I can do better with my foot control on slippy coast than cruise cortrol does. Will take getting use to the L mode. Worked great in the windy roads though. Country driving not city driving.
