That's fantastic. We (family of 4) drove to St. George last weekend, ~270 miles each way. No pics and don't remember what we got going down, but trip meter read 58.XXmpg on the way back Sunday in >100 degrees. Consistently shocked how easy it is to average >50mpg in the hybrid, even on the highway.
That’s insane, glad it’s working for you. It’s a work truck that gets driven a lot, mostly highway, so probably not as good of a fit. Plus the wait time to get one made it a no-go. My personal ride I might do a hybrid.

I get the feeling many commenting hybrid owners in this thread don't use it as a truck

Wow, that’s more than me this week. I pick mine up Monday and I now have 128 miles🤣
i dont think thats all that many miles, i put almost 600 mi on my 23 mav hybrid that i bought 26 april 2023. as of today 28 july i have 1921 mi on it. i dont think 147mi this soon is excessive, most folks that buy a new car/truck tend to want to go play with their new toy. see where the mileage is in 12 months or so.

For sure, they all have their place. It’s a work truck so it’s always loaded and on the highway. They are both great for their intended uses.
..
I’m just wondering, do you happen to know if the hybrid has any issues or recalls?

It is, this was more of a fun post. I’m glad the hybrid exists, now they just need an AWD one if they ever work the kinks out of the hybrid.
hybrid awd will just decrease the MPG - the primary reason why someone would buy a hybird - add to it that an AWD will cause a price increase and all of a sudden economically you may as well just buy an ecoboost.

Both powertrains leave every other truck on the market in the dust MPG-wise and it’s not even close. Can’t go wrong either way if you get in at the right price.
That seemed a bit ā€œoptimisticā€.
Gaslighting and optimism are 2 difft things.....

Cheers ;)

This thread reminds me so much of a scene from a Monty Python movie, where the father of the groom laments "let's not get all caught up in who killed who"... or something to that effect.

The fact is that the EcoBoost is a terrifically fuel efficient small truck, that rides like an SUV. The only competition out there is (drum roll) the Maverick Hybrid. I have some of both - and I think they are modern marvels of automotive engineering. They have all been absolutely flawless. Yes there is an open recall for side airbags, which I will ignore.

Yes, the Hybrid gets even more amazing fuel economy. The EcoBoost also runs like a scalded cat. And you can't take that away from me.

Can't we all just learn to get along?

I ordered a Hybrid for a couple of reasons. First is I no longer need to tow anything. I still want an open truck bed though for the times I need to haul something or grab dirty stuff from the local home improvement store. I’m don’t need AWD because I will primarily be driving it in warm climates. And thirdly, I will primarily be doing in town driving with it. I currently own a Honda Ridgeline which I have loved. So to be worth it to me to go through a vehicle change, I wanted to go hybrid and am willing to wait for it. Otherwise, I will be content driving my Ridgeline. Ultimately these trucks are tools and each one gets a different job done. So my motto is to get the right tool for the job. So I’m with whoever said let’s all
Just get along 🤣

Agree. On camping road trips with a moderate load, I'm getting 35-38 on the highway. About the same as the Eco boost I'd imagine. It's only very good mileage because I'm hypermiling. I would do well with both the eco boost and hybrid.

p.s. - I've seen the Hybrid average as low as 27.5 mpg in extreme weather highway conditions. My trips are 150-200 miles one way.
