Exactly, just like 95%+ of Maverick owners we're not throwing away new tires based on media reviews. I'm very happy with the Continental Pro Contact OEM tires. If I want a snow tire, I'll order a set. Not all seasons. I want a summer and winter set.

What's the knock on the Continentals? Admittedly they're not very stylish.

I live in rural upstate ny, and honeslty cant stand the continental pro contacts. They don't do well in my opinion on anything but dry blacktop. Any seasonal conditions or minimal debris and they have slippage on turns. Im using them until the tread is out but im sure there are better options available.

I pulled the stock tires off at about 2k miles/2 weeks of use (long drive back to Seattle from Kansas).

Went with 245/65R17 107H SL FALKEN WILDPEAK A/T TRAIL tires on the cheapest black steel rims I could find with some new OEM Motorcraft TPMS sensors (did not poach the sensors from the stock wheels/tires). Added some relatively cheap "hub caps"/wheel covers to make them look a bit nicer than just cheap black steel rims.

Have the stock tires still mounted on the stock rims to use as an excessive amount of spare tires if needed I suppose. They have the OEM TPMS sensors in them, and are an adequate tire on an adequate rim. More than you can say for most "spare tires".

Or if I ever plan to go on a cross country 3-6k mile all highway/main road roadtrip in the middle of Summer with no risk or rain or snow or ice, maybe I will rotate them back on to save the wear and tear on my Falkens. For now they are sitting in a stack under a tire cover to keep them out of the elements/out of the sun.

I have no issues with the continental tires on my 23 mav. Only 3000 miles though so far.

Mine are off at 3300 miles. 3 flats and rock cuts all over them. Check my thread in this forum. I'll update with pics and a vid. I can almost turn these tires inside out they are so soft.

None of us bought a Ferrari. These tires are perfectly adequate.

I live on 1.5 miles of maintained dirt road. They have cuts all over them and I had 3 flats in 3300 miles. Too soft and not adequate for me. Replaced with 108 Load range Nittos.

My wife drives this car and her being on the side of the road 3X in the last 2 months with flats was not good.
