Farm Bureau will offer a $500 rebate/discount on any new Maverick purchased. You can either go online, contact your local FB office, or have the dealer get you a certificate for the $500. People use it by just joining Farm Bureau and do not even have insurance coverage with them. What part of the great state are you in? I was born, grew up there, went to college there, taught school all over there for many years before migrating (legally LOL) to TX. Still have family and friends in Alexandria area and Baton Rouge area.
Born, raised, went to college, and STILL live in NELA (Ouachita Parish). Born and raised in West Monroe, graduated from NLU (now ULM) in 1999, married a local girl, and have since lived in Sterlington and Monroe for the last 24 years. I am in industrial construction sales and travel all over the country, but we do a fair amount of work in and around Baton Rouge so I am very familiar. I also have friends in and around BR (Port Allen, Tickfaw, Hammond...). What part of TX did you migrate to?

I tried hard to justify an order, but just couldn’t do it. The last straw was the 33% hybrids @ $1500 additional cost. There’s no upside anymore. Ford has priced themselves out of this market. I’ll be driving my 2022 and consider a 2025 after a mileage check next year. I expect to see many 2024 Mavericks sitting on dealer lots and train depots, which dealers probably won’t like too much because they still aren’t hugely profitable, compared to a 150 let’s say.

Even with the increase, a Lariat Hybrid is still at least $3k and as much as $5k cheaper than a similarly equipped small crossover hybrid (Escape, CRV, RAV4). And it is about $9k cheaper than a Honda Ridgeline RTL-E. I know a Ridgeline is a larger truck, it is what I currently drive, but that’s a big difference in price. For me, it still seems like a good deal and was worth placing an order.

Compared to the first 2 model years and your '22 sure it's not a total steal. But compared to the rest of the new vehicle market for those of us that don't already have one it's still a solid deal. Even with the hybrid price bump it's still one of the cheapest hybrids on the market, seats 5, enough truck for most ppl, etc.

I'm honestly hoping enough ppl see it as you do so the chances of my XL actually getting made go up 🤣

I am northwest of Ft. Worth and east of Wichita Falls in a small town of Bowie, TX. I was born in Holden, just west of Hammond, finished college at Louisiana College in Pineville and actually lived in West Monroe for 2 years. I was a pastor in my early years, but had some health issues and had to retire early. I was at Emmanuel Baptist Church 20+ years ago. Sure been to Sterlington a few times. Enjoy N Louisiana. I am actually going back to Pineville in a couple weeks and have to stop in Natchitoches and get some good meat pies and boudin balls.

I see a lot of people here who bought a Maverick a year or two ago that are mad that the prices have gone up on 2024's. Why don't you keep what you've got? Does everyone trade cars that often? Hell, some of us have been waiting for up to two years.

I picked up my hybrid this afternoon. The sales folks all said people had given up on waiting for Mavericks and didn’t convert. They also stated that they are not seeing many new order customers either.

There is a limit to how much misery consumers will endure for the privilege of forking over their hard-earned money.

Converting to a MY24 order was pretty easy. I didn't even have to pick up the phone or drive anywhere. I just emailed the guy I've been working with at the dealership.

Now it looks like I'll probably get my MY23 built but with the Ford incentive on the MY24 I don't see why someone in my situation would care much about the price increase. Even waiting another year is not a big deal for me. If you are a person who needed a new vehicle "right now" you weren't going to get a Maverick without paying a huge premium anyway.

Yeah, I don't get it. I can sort of understand if you took something off the dealer lot, but if you ordered exactly what you wanted. The car that my Maverick is replacing I've been driving for 18 years.

Likewise, my maverick will be replacing a 2009 Hyundai Accent base model with manual-crank windows, so it will be a hell of an upgrade haha. Then I plan to drive the mav for at least 10 years, likely much longer. The rule in our house is only 1 car payment at a time costing no more than 5% of take home income. When a car is paid off we just keep putting that payment amount into a savings account and use it for the next down payment.

I think this is a fair assessment - but if this is what ford is thinking, they misinterpreted what customers were actually doing. I think people pick the trim they could afford that had the luxury features they were used to in their similarly priced sedans which lead them to getting XLT or higher. I don't think it calls for an opportunity to raise prices and offer less features.
I moved myself up to get push button start and again to get Sirius. Nobody’s fault but my own. Looked for 6 months at $10k used trucks listed for $30k w/100,000 miles, then pulled the trigger. No regrets.

Makes me wonder if Ford will offer lower interest rates on the Maverick like they do for the other models.
