The discussions on pricing are interesting to read. I purchased Lariat Hybrid with Lux/360/Moonroof two model years ago for MSRP of $32,750. 2024 model configured the same would be $36,725 an increase of about 12.2%. During that same time period, inflation has grown by 12.5%. All things being equal, the price of the nearly identical vehicle is essentially the same, relatively speaking.

Ford doesn't want to sell Mavericks I think that pretty obvious not enough profit in them. Ford wants everybody to a 60K or higher F150 Ford makes lots of profit on the F150. Farley has also said Ford can be profitable selling a lower number of vehicles. I think that is a very reckless ideal lets see how long it'll take Ford to dump Farley when the recession takes firm hold on the economy and no one is buy 60K plus F150's.
I mean it's already starting to happen it looks like. Locally I notice many $50k+ cars sitting on lots when just six months ago everything was out of stock.

My brother, who lives in Rhode Island, told me today that a local Jeep dealer has 130 Jeep 4Xe models on the lot. That's the electrified Jeep. ONE HUNDRED AND THIRTY!

At the average price of $70K+. I don't know how the dealer affords the interest on those vehicles just to keep them sitting there.

I'm not saying the bottom of the Maverick market is going to fall out any time soon. In fact, I am sure it won't. But we are clearly seeing the beginnings of a correction in the auto market as a whole.

I'll add to the anecdotal evidence - I had a dealer reach out to me Wednesday morning and say that they had 17 or 19 spots remaining for 2024 orders. I was a little surprised given what happened last year. Didn't follow up with him since I don't need to anymore, but found it interesting they had only placed 2 orders in 2 days...

Pretty clear from all the anecdotes here that Maverick interest is "spotty" this year. Some dealers have met or exceeded their ability to serve customers, while other dealerships are searching for people who want to place orders.

Perhaps, in time, most of those folks who could not be accommodated at their local dealer will find their way to one of these others with slots left to fill.

We may be reaching equalibrium, and sanity, in the Maverick market, over the course of the next year...

That's a great point and it's a hybrid. Ecoboost lariat lux has increased way less than inflation. $440 more for my 22 to be built as a 24.

GM produced a whopping forty nine Hummer EVs (100K$) over the last 6 months. I guess now the car companies know where the upper bar is.

I think they found that people were more than happy to add 10K$ more in options to their original 21K base truck and then they thought well we marketed it as an inexpensive truck but people are willing to throw big profit margins at it so let's just go that route. Pretty much the customer base did it to themselves. I don't know why people are willing to ramp up the cost so much other than they had an original budget of 30K$+ and they just wanted to spend it on this. For those of us that just stuck with the base xl and spend 22K we made the right choice at the right time.

If I didn't already have a 2023 on order, I wouldn't be a new customer for 2024. The maverick is no longer an affordable entry level vehicle anymore. You can buy a full sized truck for just a few thousand more

I do not want a full-size truck that doesn't fit in my garage and gets maybe 20mpg on a good day.

If you do want one, that is indeed silly to buy a Maverick instead.

I think this is a fair assessment - but if this is what ford is thinking, they misinterpreted what customers were actually doing. I think people pick the trim they could afford that had the luxury features they were used to in their similarly priced sedans which lead them to getting XLT or higher. I don't think it calls for an opportunity to raise prices and offer less features.

Like I have stated elsewhere before,
The Maverick is the perfect replacement for my Early Gen Rangers... So, NO complaints here. ;)

With the orders, appearing to be going slower than last year....
Maybe, the 'Flippers" have gone on to new pastures...

Hybrid price increase and perhaps the 2024 Tacoma announcement is giving people pause.

I just ordered a Tremor Lariat. That's really all I need but also looking at the new Taco.

For those of us who are willing to ramp up the cost. It was because we wanted a vehicle with the latest features. We weren't interested in a barebones vehicle. If that was the only option would have purchased a well equipped suv. Those of us who upgraded also made the right choice at the right time for our needs
