There has been a lot of anecdotal evidence about falling Maverick prices on the secondary market. With the 2024 order bank currently open -- and, surprisingly, no talk of it closing yet -- it would seem there is still opportunity for anyone who really wants a Maverick to order one at MSRP and get it exactly how they want. Granted, the 24 prices are higher than 22 or 23, but...

...that brings us to the secondary market on used Mavericks. I got the email below from a local dealer today.

They dropped the price on this used XL from a hugely inflated $35K to a still inflated $31k. It's definitely still not a "deal" by any means. However, there is no denying these trucks are sitting on the lot longer than they were, and it's getting harder and harder to find people willing to pay thousands over sticker. As many others have said, I believe the era of crazy Maverick markup and easy profit for flippers is coming to an end.
Seriously?! A USED xl initially offered for 35k?? I paid just under 32 k for my brand new 23 loaded XLT,4k, Ecoboost, lux pkg ,4wd. Is this just plain greed? Also ,my dealer did not raise my price after the initial order.

With the cost of money rising (interest rates) people have less buying power. The Fed is presumably raising rates again tomorrow. Auto manufacturers are starting to feel the pinch with some starting to give discounts to move stock. Dodge is giving 10% off most new vehicles. We picked up a new Subaru wilderness last week under sticker, So the market is leveling off

It should be included in MSRP with the dealer markup. If it is not then I will be walking when I go to the dealership today.
It did indeed include destination charges. We also qualified for a dealer rebate, so the all-inclusive out-the-door price was under $29k. I'm not thrilled, but I am satisfied that it was a reasonably good deal given the current market and the likelihood that the hybrid XL I ordered would be available in the next few months. This was in the DC area.

People are trying to make a profit. Soon you will be lucky to break even. By the end of next year the bubble will have popped, and leak all the juice out. Sell now or just plan to enjoy your truck. I'm keeping mine when it comes, unless I hate it.

When I was a stockbroker in the 80’s I knew when people just started coming in and wanting to sink their savings in stocks that the market was going south. I would tell them the bus was full and people were getting off. Those who still wanted risky stocks I would send to other brokers who didn’t care if people lost their savings.

Years later when I was a real estate broker and people came in wanting to buy houses to flip in 2007-2008 I told them the bus was full and people were getting off. Those who still wanted to buy I referred to other agents and later they called to tell me I was right. BTW, I sold my house in 2008 and did very well😊

So today I take my dog to the groomer and what do I see but another A51 in the lot. When I came out the woman was loading groceries in her A51 ST and of course I had to go over and talk with her. She said she loved her Maverick and they were thinking of ordering a 24 to flip. Guess what I told her 🤣 PS I didn’t order a 24.

Well... I guess you all have shown data that suggests I shouldn't have moved forward with my devious plan to open a Maverick only dealer lot to make money on new cars... plan foiled, well done fellow truck club members. Now I guess i'll just need to enjoy the trucks and drive a different one everyday of the week and wallow in my business loan debt.

This is a joke

Dang! I have to play the lottery I got so lucky. I got my 22 hybrid with hitch and moon roof for $22,600 out the door. (I did wait for 9 months for it though, which seems like a tic in time compared to some) And I plan on driving it into the ground. Metaphorically not in actuality!

I see it on lots of things, but Mavericks are still holding additional value. That will be gone within a year.

that isn’t the point. Even someone who pays in cash will be quite upset when they realize the $37k they paid for a $29k vehicle is now worth $20k when the market corrects fully.

I assume people still care about the value of their assets
A car is a depreciation asset. Unless it’s a collectible it’s not going to hold or appreciate in value.

I was only offered $5000 below sticker price for my 2023 Lariat Lux hybrid with 5,000 miles on it. I'd say the bubble has already burst.

it's not a surpise that the used car market is down for Maverick. I estimated 20% of my23 order were intended for resale by flippers. The filppers really inflated the unreal demand.
