All I know is whenever I look at my 23 XLT hybrid I have no desire to replace the antenna with a stubby one.

Because she’s a unicorn 🦄.

close to 22 prices, no recalls, before 24 price hikes. I feel lucky every time I look at it!

I think the order banks will be open for longer this year for two main reasons.

1. Dealers have been given their allocation numbers and were told not to take more orders than what they will potentially get. Ford does not want to have rollovers for the next model year.

Last year when the order banks opened it was a free for all with dealers placing hundreds of orders especially since COVP was not required.

2. MY24 price increases.

A lot of people with MY22 and MY23 Mavericks have been put off placing a new MY24 order and trading in due to the price increases plus the fact that they currently have lower interest rates that are long gone. Except from the colors there isn't really anything new for MY24 that makes it worth trading in and paying more for.

There will also be less people ordering a MY24 to flip since there's less profit due to used car values going down.

One sales guy told me they had customers who placed multiple Maverick orders at multiple dealers and paid all cash for them. If it wasn't for the easy profit they would never be at a Ford Dealership or think about buying a Ford vehicle.

I certainly feel not having a base Lariat is going to lower demand on the Lariat. There is a BIG difference in price between my MY 23 Lariat hybrid and the MY 24 Lariat hybrid.
Yep, like over 11k out-the-door, in my case.

I am a MY22 Hybrid owner. I was going to order a MY24 but the memory of my 9 month wait, I don't want to do it again. I will rethink for a MY25. I love my truck. Just finished the 12v Battery cable and 2 axle fixes and still satisfied. You are right: wait more, less items and more % rates.

I'm still confused by the allocations...Do the 23 rollovers count towards the 24 allocations or not? My small town dealer has 17 rollovers. They only received 5 mavericks in 2023 so I would assume that's how many allocations they will have for 2024. I guess I'm screwed if that's the case.

At this rate in 15 years those $100k F-150’s will be $170k. 👎🏼👎🏼👎🏼
Ford needs to drastically reconsider their assembly line process.

I guess I got demand wrong as I expected the number of possible orders to be oversold the first day. Maybe all the fervor has diminished. If nothing else, the FAILURE of FoMoCo to deliver would tend to turn away potential buyers, and their overly complex allocation, priority and delivery model(WEEKS after assembly is common) tend to deter most who are not committed to the brand and model.
Repeatedly having constraint problems in fulfilling orders and matching to available scheduling slots seems to indicate a lax attention to potential order distribution - how many of this with that option - which SHOULD have been tended to within the first 6 months of production at the longest. They apparently have their NOT_best men on the process. I likely won't be around when it all comes home to roost and no one goes to the dealership to cruise the showroom because there is NOTHING THERE they can AFFORD. As I kid, I religiously went to the dealers to see the 'all new for 62' and checked out all the models on the showroom flor AND all the others that were hidden on lots behind and near the dealers. I went to the showroom that was not a showroom to see the first Corvair, and the Falcon and Valiant. Today, does anyone have any enthusiasm about the new models... nope. To answer my own question. They are reaching for that easy to grab low hanging fruit today - $100k F-150s, but that tree won't bear that fruit forever, and they have kicked the kids out of the showrooms and only want the rich bastids who can afford trucks that cost what a nice home cost a few years ago.
whatever

Out of curiosity. I inquired with my salesman where I ordered my Tremor, how many Allocations they had this year and last. For MY23 they had 20 total. They filled last years in about 6 hours.
For this MY24 they have 50. He also mentioned that ALL 50 had been placed for them this week .

They should get somewhat more allocations for 2 reasons:
  • The plant is now running 3 shifts where as it was running only 2 for most of MY23
  • MY23 production run is scheduled for 11 months, MY24 production is scheduled for 13 months

Unfortunately, yes they do. Hopefully, they sold a lot of Escapes to help their allocations. I think Bronco Sports went into the equation also. 65% of their allocation is based on prior year Maverick sales I think. My small town dealer did not tell me their allocation. Only that they had three rollovers of which I was one. They did say that their '24 allocations would not cover their '24 preorders. Good luck, I hope you have some "pull" with your dealer. I know Ford wants those rollover orders filled too, so maybe some other help coming too.

Wife and I love ours so much a couple weeks ago we playfully discussed getting another to replace our old minivan. But not at the higher prices!

If a dealer gets 100 allocations for MY24, do they get 35 hybrids and 65 eco? Is it a straight percentage?

Seems the 24’ Mav order banks snuck up on a lot of dealers and buyers. One week before order banks were gonna open my sales guy wasn’t aware or sure of any of the details. I basically had to educate him on it. One week ago on Friday he said they were going to start contacting customers to see who still wanted to order. I think cause I brought it to their attention. Customers hadn’t been pro active as I was obviously cause the majority of those would have already reached out to the dealer asking about 24’ order. I suspect I was the only one that had reached out about re-order this time last week.

I personally don‘t think the original price point was undervalued and Ford was still making a decent profit. If selling at msrp alone, once you factor in the holdback, dealers are making $2500-$3400 at profit per unit at least so Ford is logically making more than that per unit. The quality of materials currently used on them are garbage along with many other Ford products. I know this and I can say this cause most vehicles I’ve purchased the last 22 years have been Fords. One would think quality of materials would improve over time but my current 2013 Ford Focus has more durable plastics than my previous 14’ Mustang, 18’ Raptor, 21’ Bronco Sport, 22’ Mach E and now my 23’ Bronco.

I know some will ask “why buy ford then?” I’ve also purchased vehicles from other brands so it’s given me a comparison but I’m actually not extra picky cause I don’t hold onto vehicles for more than a few short years. The 13’ Focus hatchback I bought used as a salvaged title just 18 months ago cause I needed something cheap from one day to the next that would carry a lot of stuff for work. Work alone will trash my daily and if I get a Mav to replace my Focus it’s just gonna get trashed. My other option is the all new 24’ Chevy Trax but I’m building points on my credit card which I can use to take off the sells price. Got 2k off using those points on a custom ordered CT5 in Jan.

You should find a dealer willing to tell you what their allocation is and how many orders they have. I feel for you if you live in a remote area without a lot of options but if you really want a Maverick it may be worth your while to place an order with a dealer closer to a population center who is willing to share allocation numbers with you.
Alocations alocations alocations.
Even if you think this is a real thing, why would you believe any numbers thrown at you by a dealership salesperson?
Information from a dealership salesperson is like - well I dont know there is nothing to compare it to. Have you asked any questions to confirm something you KNOW about the Maverick and then listened to what they have to say?
Even if they really know they are not going to tell you anything that doesn't benefit them.
If they want to even take your order ok yeah we got lots of alocations, if they don't want to take your order or set you up to not bothering them for a long time yeah we don't have enough allocations.
It's like the mouse asking the cat how many mice hes allowed to catch each day.
You're not going to get a straight answer.
Or dealerships would publish them not just take you aside and tell you because your're such a good guy.
They lie, they don't even think of it as a lie they are just talking.
