In my business, I go from home to home in this 100+ degree weather. I am only gone from my Maverick for 5 to 10 minutes, so I don’t turn it off so I can leave the air conditioner running. The “idle“ sound is very noisy compared to when the weather was cooler but I don’t think the engine is running. I just don’t know what is making that sound. I turned the blower fan to the lowest setting, but it didn’t make any difference. What is generating the noise?

That is the sound of the electric A/C compressor and normal.

Thanks for the response. I was just curious why the sound is a lot louder now that it’s hotter.

You leave it running unoccupied? Do you somehow think you are immune to theft?

Can you post a video with the noise?

Hi there, I'd be happy to look into your Maverick concerns on my end. Will you send us a message with your VIN and dealership info? I can look into things on my end.

I believe max AC requires engine running due to amp draw plus radiator coolant pumps plus HVB coolant pumps. Might try AC on auto with temp control other than max = flat out and ice will be at 2250 or more rpm.

My AC is ungodly loud. (Search for ungodly to read the thread) It isn't normal. It is unacceptable. I've taken it the dealer. They're going to replace the compressor. It is on back order. Hopefully a different compressor will be quieter. This ungodly sound isn't the fan. If yours is like this then I say you have something wrong, possibly same as mine.

I also have a F150 hybrid Powerboost. It has the high voltage AC also. I believe both systems likely operate exactly the same. The compressors are probably identical except for mounting tabs. Regardless, my Powerboost's AC isn't loud at all. I don't hear the compressor. MY Maverick gets "WTF looks, turn that POS off" looks. No one gives my F150 a second thought.
