I have a ‘25 lariat and it doesn’t matter if it’s 30 degrees or 60 she idles high for some time regardless of cold start or getting gas. Recently I did a test, I remote start before leaving home for work in the morning several minutes especially since temps are dropping here in MI and let them come down. I go to the gym (about a hour) again remote start as I’m walking out. Work/gym is an hour from home. And she idles high for who knows how long because i have to just put it in drive and get to work! I took screenshots because I can’t believe this is “normal” so to summarize, warm up from cold start, RPM comes down, I drive an hour, turn off for approximately an hour, and she runs highs for several minutes. In my screenshot the temperature gauge shows it has come up. I don’t understand why it’s still over 1,000 rpm.
When I questioned the dealer they’ve asked if I have any lights on my dash. My answer is no. Anyone else experiencing similar?

I believe this is totally "normal" for the 2025 with the new engine and it's set up for the changes in the emission control system. 2025 has the gas particulate filter. The engine rev is to get to higher temp sooner. At least, that is my understanding............

I had a 22 and it was quiet. The 2025 is not and I really dislike the engine rev in comparison.

Well - it depends if you have a GPF - location and build time are big factor.

Not all of the 25’s have a GPF.

Mine does not have GPF, 3-11-25 build, but still has initial high rpms. Apparently, Ford set them all up for the GPF not knowing exactly when GPF would become available for installation. Even though GPF installation became a Job 2 or Job 3. If anyone reading this thread has a 25 EB that does not rev up when starting, let us know........

100% normal. My Eco Mav, as well as previous cars I've owned with an Ecoboost, all do the same thing. Combination of getting the engine up to temp a little quicker, but also to get the cat heated up quicker to reduce emissions.
