9:25pm. I got an email from ford. I have a 2024 on order.
It's really been that kind of day, full of surprises for me.
Karl ford, in story city, iowa is my dealer.
They are a big time chevy dealer from ankeny, iowa that bought a small town, single store, ford franchise just before the first time I walked in there in early January, 2022.

Do you not remember last year when MY22 orders with a scheduled build date got canceled.

Having a scheduled build data on a MY23 is no guarantee that it will get built.

If it doesn't get built as a 23 and you have no order in as a 24 you will not get your Maverick.

Right but 1) We haven't seen the same issue with 2023 builds and 2) Ford explicitly told the dealers any new 2024 orders that have pending 2023 builds will get canceled so of course the dealers are going to be a little apprehensive placing a "backup" order that will in all likelihood never be picked up or built. In the dealer's eyes it's just a waste of their time.

If the problems occur for this year (canceled scheduled MY23 orders with build dates) then you will be screwed because you did not have a MY24 order in as the order banks will be closed.

By not putting in a MY24 order you are putting absolute trust that Ford will not screw up again.

It is insurance to put in a MY24 order and cancel it when your MY23 is actually build.

I discussed this with my dealer and he is okay in doing it.

My dealer just told me they are having no luck with getting the orders submitted due to the system crashing. Said that I wont get entered till tomorrow.

Same here my salesguy tried all afternoon and up until 8pm and still couldn't get in. hope we both get our orders put in tomorrow and everyone else that's trying to get a maverick

I stewed a bit over not being able to get a well appointed XLT EB AWD 4K for $32k.... Flirted with not ordering.... Thought, you know... I haven't bought a brand new truck in 20 years.... I'll step up to the Lariat to get the features that were yanked from the XLT and deal with paying allot more and getting even more features.

So yeah... I ordered:
Lariat EB AWD (which has sooo much already)
4K Tow
Hot Pepper Red
Black Appearance Package
Sunroof.

So, beyond either Tremor or FX4, it quite loaded. I'll pay about $100 more a month than I had intended. It's done. I'll order the full set of carpeted formed floor mats 3rd party and the ARE MX cap as well once the truck is in. I'll tint the two front windows as well.

Let me add.... I've received the email confirmation from Ford that my order was placed. Despite reports of system crashes... My order is in.

the GREAT general mngr (Dean) Auto Nation Westlake Ohio got my order in while on the phone with me around 7pm local time today. evidently the build site went live with no real problems. however the portal for actual orders to be submitted had some glitches(again?) i would of loved to have been a fly on the wall when whatever poor bastard had to explain just how in the HELL we(Ford IT) were'nt ready!?!. i cant say enough good things about the folks at Auto Nation Ford in Westlake, Ohio, they've treated me well for over 30yrs. now the wait begins my friends...

Did the email you receive today give you specific details on what you ordered (trim, engine, extras, etc.)? I got an email as well but it didn’t break down my order so I’m just curious.

my confirmation email was light on details also. all it confirmed was that Ford had accepted my order as placed by my dealer today and that it would be scheduled and that i could expect further update from them within the next 45 days.

by comparison my current '23 HY Lariat that i bought off the lot at MSRP minus my 'A' plan discount after 3 short wks of searching(i LOVE the folks at Auto Nation Ford Westlake, Ohio) with no 360 copilot assist; with no moonroof and with no bed tie down locking rails stickered at $34,180

i'm not that upset at the diff. if U run the #'s on the now mandatory options included with the Lariat package as opposed to if these had been added alacart it's not really as large a increase as it may 1st appear. now i or nobody that i know likes paying more $$ than they have to for anything they purchase but it was'nt enough to stop me from ordering another Mav. i am NOT pleased with the deletion of the securi code keypad and the windshield wiper de-icer opion,' Mable the Maverick' is and will be garaged but northeast Ohio winters can be harsh & unpredictable and that feature sure seemed like a good idea to me. just why Ford? we would of obviously paid for this stuff.
