Doors locking by itself has happened to me about 10 times now, always w/ key in ignition, truck off. I leave them in ignition lock while I load up. Fortunately I can still remember 6 digits, & used door key pad. to get it unlocked. Glad to know it is supposed to do this & nothing is amiss.
Maybe an off-topic comment, but I hope Ford is just being careful about ramping up production without the proper quality control measures in place. Let''s go with that!
Well, my dealer was happy to sell me a Maverick - not so much for that profit margin, but for the margin he made off my trade in. I made it clear the only truck I was going to buy was a Maverick.
traded a perfectly good Tundra for Maverick. Mainly so I could keep it in garage. Got tired of digging walnut shells from around engine. Darn squirrels!!
Maybe Ford is pretty happy with the situation. People come to dealers to buy small truck with low profit margin, get frustrated waiting, end up buying high profit alternative.
They are a business.
My mistake - I looked at the can label - paint was for my 2003 Honda Odyssey. Midnight blue. Still is a pretty good match.
I usually get touch up paint right away for a new car, but no need this tine.
I had some leftover paint (fender repair) from my daughter's 2000 Focus ZX3. I used it to touch up the 1st rock nicks. Matches perfectly. So maybe Alto Blue is just a new name?
Put on mudflaps now, so hopefully no more rock chips.
Traded in a 2005 Tundra. Was the most reliable vehicle I ever owned. Went thru 3 exhaust systems, but that was over 18 years. It used lots of gas, esp in winter won't miss that.
I am hoping Ford has done their homework on reliability so I can just enjoy the ride for a long time.
Normally wouldn't cobble on a new truck, but this is not a permanent mod.
I trimmed some couch leather (wife will never miss it) & retained with vacuum hose split longways. Staying put so far & window goes up/down without complaint.

One selling point for Maverick (like Ford needs another one) is that the low step in height is good for us geezers.
Took delivery of new XLT yesterday. Lovin' it!
My dog loves to go for truck rides, esp. in warm weather when he gets to stick his head out the window (never on highway). On my last truck, this resulted in some wear from his nails on top ledge of door panel. I am thinking of putting some...
I wanted a Hybrid but it was looking like another year of waiting. We don't drive the truck much (my trade-in was a 2005 with 91K miles) so the extra gas cost won't break the bank.
I figure we could trade it for a plug-in a few years down the road.
Probably other manufactures will offer...
Bought a Maverick just yesterday. New XLT Ecoboost FWD Alto Blue. Have been looking for a Hybrid, but got tired of waiting for one to pop up. I don't think there will be any downside to the EB power, so all is good.
Looking forward to learning all things Maverick.
