Price protection

After giving up all hope of getting this truck, it looks like I have a XLT Hybrid built and awaiting Transportation. Before I get my hopes up is there anyway I can see if I'm "price protected" other than contacting my dealer? Also, do I have any recourse if the dealer decides screw me by not honoring the agreed to price when ordering (MSRP)?

Not unless u have a signed buyers agreement from the dealership... The order sheet u signed at time of placing the order wont hold up even if it is on their letterhead.. Unless they sign something as to the price. The dealership can charge u whatever they want or even sell it to someone else if they decide to... And ford corporate u can call and complain but their hand Are kinda tied... They can't undo the sale to someone else or change what ever price the dealership tells u when it arrives...... All u can do is hope they are honest and honor the price u ordered it for. Or not force u to pay for any unwanted dealer add on options..

I got lucky the dealership I went to charged msrp and only did the 2 add ons I asked for... They said the good word of mouth was worth more to them then a price markup and unhappy customer..

Well that sucks! That doesn't sound like price protection at all, more like crime. Let's hope all industries don't adopt this absurd model of doing business.

When I saw the window sticker on my 23 and the new price I immediately sent my salesman an email asking him to confirm my original price was protected. At first the manager just said no. I told him the the posts from Ford on the MTC forum said our pricing was protected and asked the manager to call Ford and confirm. Needless to say I got an email saying my original price was protected. You gotta love our MTC

Call Ford directly they will give you the certificate # for price discount if applicable write down the amt and cert #

I did, Ford told me to contact my dealer. I let Ford know my dealer is either unable or unwilling to give me the information to no avail. I'll find out for sure in a few days as the vehicle should be delivered anyday now. Fingers crossed..

Indeed, this is the vehicle that I was told would be cancelled days after ordering. Just one of the plethora of reasons I don't have a good feeling about getting the vehicle to agreed upon pricing. We will see how the story ends any day now, hopping for the best.

I don't think there is a certificate number for price protection, just transition private offer. Price protection is paid to the dealer by Ford and they hope that the dealer passes it on to the customer either at the time of sale or 45 days later when Ford gives the dealer the money.
Transition private offer, if properly ordered, is paid by Ford for the customer not the dealer. There is a certificate number for that but some have been misplaced in the computer if changes were made. An inventory specialist can usually find the number.
