So, I've been going through the specs line by line. (Doing price comparison between what I thought I ordered, what I got, and a 2024 with all the features I want)
I noticed a small interior change, the steering wheel went from "leather wrapped" to "soft vinyl wrapped". I'm just wondering if anyone else noticed that.
They did that on the 23MY initially as well. Then switched back to leather at one point.

Ahh, I couldn't remember if it was listed as vinyl on my original 23 orders. I just noticed it was listed as leather on Ford's site if you do the "Build" on a 23.

I wonder if my my23 choices Were the reason it was not built
XLT
Alto blue
Manual rear window
SIBL
Lux package w/keyless entry
I was surprised to see no one responded about your spray in bed liner. You really do need to take that off. I would put your chances at about zero for Ford to choose your vehicle with that option. That's something you can get in lots of places after you get the truck. Tim Bartz says don't option anything that you can do later.

SIBL weren't really much of a capacity issue for '23MY like they were in '22MY. To the point that's where they added the whole cargo rail discount package.

Dammit! The one option I wanted was the 400W inverter. Now I can't get that, AND I can't get my XL in Carbonized Gray.

My 23 better get scheduled...
If you are handy with vehicle and 110v electrical mods you can install a better and more powerful inverter.

400w is only 3.6 amps. The Ford modified sine wave inverter has a long list of things you should not use it for.

Does that also include the trailer hitch with its increased expected availability? I honestly don't think i'll need one, but for $100 I might as well add it as it will be much more expensive to do it after the fact. They said they expect availability not to be an issue this time around but i'll also be ordering an XL Hybrid. I believe if my math is correct XL Hybrids will only make up 7% of the total production. Add in the hitch availability of 65% and that goes down to 4.55% of total production will be XL + Hybrid + Trailer hitch, assuming an even distribution of options across the product lines which obviously won't be the case, but its the best math I can do atm :p. Maybe i'll just remove it....

I rewired my entire last house myself without issue, but for some reason doing work like this in a vehicle myself makes me apprehensive. They make some that simply plug in that go up to like 200 watts, i'll probably just get one of those as the most this thing would likely be used for is charging a laptop.

Total side note, sorry this is a super long post, does anybody have experience with CP360 vs just the standard safety options? I originally wasn't going to get that, but figured this might be the car I give to my son when he starts driving in like 7 years so it would be good to have all the extra safety stuff for the new driver. How effective is it really? I have never had a vehicle with that.

Even though the website as well as the window sticker stated leather-wrapped, all 23MY vehicles were shipped with vinyl (Active-X). That's what I understand and can certainly confirm with my 23MY Lariat...

I have CP360 on mine, my brother has a Maverick (my Granger order from 2022) without it. I think it is very effective. The cross-traffic alert warned me about a pedestrian I couldn't see in the camera, looking over my shoulder, or in any of my mirrors when I was backing up the other day. The warning lights in the mirrors that alert you if there is a vehicle in the blind spot are effective and very obvious. The lane warning is not that useful, I mostly leave it off. I only turn it on during long drives on the interstate.

On the other hand, my brother's truck just has the extra mirrors to provide a blind spot view in the side view mirrors. He actually prefers it that way, but I would miss CP360 if it was taken away. I have a work vehicle that doesn't have blind spot monitoring. It is a 2023 Camry LE. I don't know if low end Camrys all don't have BSM or if it is just because it is a fleet build, but I miss it since both my Maverick and my wife's RAV4 have it.

I'd absolutely order with CP360.

For the dealerships with only a few alotments left and things coming down to the wire for the 23's. I think Ford would choose Mav's that wouldn't slow down the process at this point. Tim did express that. I beleive it's a time constraint combined with an alotment constraint. I concede you are probably right that it doesn't make a differece. If I wanted the 23 more than a 24 with all the changes, I would take it off.

Depends on the wattage of the laptop. I had an inverter in my old van.

My laptop would work just fine, but my son's more powerful laptop would sometimes trip the breaker. He would get so aggravated because it would only reset after turning the van off and restarting. That's not something we'd do traveling on the interstate. 🙃

💯 agree. Well worth the $650. Also get a supposed 20% discount on my insurance premium. Either way I wouldn’t place an order for one without it.

Just my $0.02... for those who are worried about the lack of manual sliding rear window... just throwing it out there... couldnt you possibly just call up glass repair shop guys and have them replace it with the manual rear window for a couple hundred bucks from an XLT? If its that much of a need and its not a stand alone option anymore. I would assume its literally a swap, as I dont see how the window size/shape is any different on all 3 trims.
I also thought about that but I would be willing to guess Ford would charge $600 or more for the glass alone then you have to pay for a body shop to install. Might be able to find a wrecked one somewhere but we all know how rare that would be.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one bummed about the keypad removal. When I ordered my truck I didn't want the damn thing, but now I use it daily!

I guess I'm going to have to learn to without it.
Damn my dealer for missing the 360 assist on my 2023. So, now to get it I have to order a 24.
Keypad delete is a huge disappointment. I surf most days and it's a real pleasure to leave the keys in the truck while I'm out in the water. One of the most used and favorite functions on my MAV.
