This is a companion piece to the Best accessory/mod under $100? Thread. I figured we can get some decent recommendations for dash cams, tonneau covers, rims, sound systems, etc.
So if it cost under $1,000, what is something that you have done to your Maverick that has improved your experience

Under $1k?

I'm actually really hoping for dash cam recommendations and I thought I was going to make it best mods on their 250 but then I started thinking about bed covers and rim/tire combos. Maybe even lift kits

Great choice! Dashcam is a great choice and should be a potential first mod for everyone.

I have used Viofo's for a long time. It depends on if you want parking mode and there are still options to run a normal camera for short durations when the vehicle is turned off, just not the greatest for your battery.

My recommendation is that if you need parking mode, get a battery pack.
I personally use a Viofo A139 but it's not the 4k one. I got it before they had the 4k version of that model, and I'd definitely get the A139 Pro (4k one) if I needed a new one. I got the PowerCell 8 and the CellinkNeo so my dashcam is always running, but most time I opt for a short parking mode when I'm at home since most drives are short. for longer trips, parking mode stays on indefinitely.

BlackBoxMyCar.com goes the extra length to provide good quality battery packs and TONS of information on dashcams. Check out their Buyers Guide.

Well that's awesome I didn't know that there was a battery pack that you could buy for dash cams. I'm going to take a look at this and the dash cam you recommended

I've had good and bad experiences with Viofo. I'd say whatever you do, if you are willing to spend the money, go 4k and make sure you can connect to it via wifi to use an app on the fly. Doesn't have to be Viofo.

When in doubt, you can hit a up a dashcam subreddit for a lot of good info too (rare that I would associate reddit with good info).

Happy hunting.

I've previously had rear view mirror types and I enjoyed how uncluttered they were with wires hidden.

This is the one I am considering but I have to wait for my truck to get built first

I'd say Wheels, mostly just because it can completely change your truck for the better
Even without upgrading the tires, wheels make a nice difference. obviously you have limited choices for under 1k

For my use case, definitely my tonneau cover....Extang Trifecta soft trifold, ~$400. Makes the bed much more practical, and can be R&R'd in 5 minutes. 🤠

Tie between:

Bison Trifold tonneau cover (689 cdn installed)
Winter and summer rims (200 cdn and 550 cdn respectively through Facebook marketplace)
Factory tints (or whoever did them)
Findway floor trays (package worth 200...got for free as my truck was the measurement model)

NOW I need dashcam and install. Not interested in doing myself anymore.

I've spent over $5k on mods. The best mod so far is the Mabett seat covers, which I didn't even buy! :) I won them as a door prize at the Maverick Truck Club Ford Nationals event in Carlisle PA. I was thinking about buying them but was worried about the price, then I got lucky in the drawing. Trust me when I tell you they are worth the asking price! Even the Ford mechanic working on my check engine light issue commented about them. Super comfortable, easy to clean, and they look fantastic, like OEM.
