A/C took chunk out of my overall trip 2 mpg report.
I was getting 52 mpg until last months weather started turning warm.

From 52 mpg down to this!

I can live with it.

I have seen that.
Thanks though, good information.

I’m pretty happy my losses have been so small. We have 90’s coming up so I’m prepared for that.

One thing nice about not having an A/C compressor is that I dont notice the parasitic power loss from running the belt off the engine like a traditional compressor setup.
That loss of power is even worse with smaller, fuel efficient engines. I used to hate summer weather just for that reason.

Its not an issue with the hybrid.

Another bonus to this power plant!

Btw, adding the rear spoiler seems to more than offset the recent mpg losses due to the A/C being used now.

I knew somebody was going to mention that!
No it isn’t. Just happened to be the temp when I took a picture the other morning.

Another reason I wanted to post this picture is that there are a few vocal skeptics on this forum, usually EB owners, who have doubted my mpg claims in the past.

Wanted to get the proof on record.

Did you add the cab spoiler or the tailgate? I really want the tailgate spoiler, but 200 bones is hard to justify for plastic!

Rear spoiler= Tailgate

I probably should use the term tailgate.

I have a post about installing this and the positive effects.
It’s worth it to me. I think it looks cool too.
Another member just reported no highway mpg gains with a roof spoiler so I am not going to try that option until I see proof that they actually help. I don’t really like the tacked on look anyway unless they're painted.

Could you tell us what octane fuel you use?

Have you noticed a difference depending upon which octane you use?

I was told by someone who drives an Excursion that he notices a considerable difference when using different octane fuels.

Is the same true for the Maverick?

I use 87. Ethanol added.😔
I tried premium, (91), for a couple tanks when I first got the truck and saw no difference in mpg, or perceived horsepower.

My wallet got lighter though.

Lots of discussion on this, I side with the group that believes higher octane does not provide any benefits in long term, normal driving.

Please, no arguments about this here. If anyone believes differently, good for you! Go for it!

There are plenty of octane discussion, (fight), threads already, go over there if you you just can’t contain yourself.

Good to know. I've never put Anything in my vehicles but the cheap stuff from tier one stations.
The most expensive gas I buy is the nonethanol gas for my lawn equipment.
