I like the styling more every time I see it. And I really like the interior of my Lariat (Area 51 Hybrid FE - haven't taken delivery of the Cyber Orange BAP yet). I did not think I would like the ActiveX "vinyl" seats - would have preferred the XLT's "denim" cloth), but to my surprise I find I do like the ActiveX "leather" a lot. It's not as hot and sticky as real leather. I also initially thought the brown/blue interior was just flat-out "garish." It has grown on me, though, and I find I kind of like it. And the comfort and room is utterly amazing. The specs are almost identical to my wife's Impala (head/leg/hip/shoulder room, front and back), so there's no fighting over which vehicle we're taking. Maverick every time!

Efficiency is amazing. After driving several "full-size" pickups, I'm loving getting 2x to 3x the mpg! Ride and handling vastly exceeded my expectations, as did the hybrid's power. I owned a Prius-C just before getting the Mav, and it was slower than Peyton Manning... This thing easily keeps up with traffic accelerating from a stop - even when staying at 20% on the "power meter," yet there's an incredible amount of power available at the drop of your right foot.

Handling is unexpectedly good. Crosswinds and rough roads don't seem to affect the ride/handling much. Turning radius is so much better than any of the full-size pickups that it surprised me. After hearing all of the complaints about the "crappy sound system" I wasn't expecting much, but I find the B&O system perfectly acceptable. It's not "concert hall" good, but we're also in a truck rolling down the road... I was planning an upgrade, but now I'm not going to bother.

The visibility (forward and sides) is WAY better than I expected. The A-pillars don't seem obtrusive. Rear visibility is again way better than my old Prius-C, though I do find taking the rear headrests off helps make it much better. I just lay them on the back seats, and pop them back in if someone will be riding back there. (Mostly just my wife and me these days.)

Safety features are, for the most part, less "invasive" than I expected. (The one exception is when someone turns right just ahead of me - like into a driveway), which sometimes sets off the flashing red screen "crash alert" even when it is clear (even to my nervous-passenger wife) that we will clear it easily. But that's nit-picking. If I was ever distracted, I'm reasonably confident it would prevent (or significantly lessen) a collision. I really love the cross-traffic alerts in crowded parking lots. I like way the BLISS works, backing up my visual scan. I absolutely love the lane centering capability (Lariat Lux/360 Assist) and find it lowers my wife's blood pressure considerably (ahem...). And on the highway, I REALLY love the ACC feature. Traffic around here is nightmarish, and since we're seldom in a hurry, just "automatically blending" with the traffic takes much of the pressure and angst out of road trips. We both arrive at our destination MUCH more rested and relaxed.

I just love my Maverick. My wife says I'm obsessed with it. Possibly true, but it is the perfect vehicle to fit my needs. I cannot believe how many times we've put the bed to good use in the few months we've owned it.

This is going to sound silly but my biggest surprise is how far this pickup (Ecoboost) can coast after I take my foot off the gas pedal. Having driven full-size pickups the last two decades I'm still trying to get use to the fact that there is very little wind resistance with the Maverick. I don't know how many times I've gotten off the Interstate ramp realizing I'm still going way too fast despite having taken my foot off the gas pedal what I still consider early.

I would say the only places it exceeded expectations was in the looks of the BAP( I didn't think the black lights and grill would make much of a difference but they do) and the acceleration in sport mode is great.

All other features I would say it met or did not meet expectations. Yeah I'll be that guy.

As I've said before this is the perfect vehicle at the perfect time. I'm so tired of seeing oversized trucks that are only used to transport humans and show off someone's supposed manhood. My newest high point is I just took a trip to Greenville S.C. to see my son and averaged 41.4 MPG. Driving over 750 miles interstate and getting that mileage at high speed and sitting twice (over 20 min each) for traffic delay is fantastic. The ride was nice, plenty pickup when needed and yes, the AC puts out. Oh, having your own tunes on a flash drive is a must. Enjoy your ride.

Picked mine up on Saturday and so far love it. Had emergency trip to the Orlando Airport late Saturday afternoon. Took my daughter and her two children plus my wife's sister and all the luggage in the bed with no issues. I was amazed that I could fit all the luggage in the bed. Already looking at 39 mpg with the hybrid. It kind of throws me when I start it there is no engine sound that tells me it is running. I have yet to find out what all the buttons do but sure am glad I waited for it. By the way I want to give a shout out to Nick Nicholas Ford in Inverness Fl who were super with the sale. The Mav came in as just a straight XLT because that was what the Ford Video Guy said to order to have the best chance of getting it built back when the order banks open last Sep. I went in on the 5th of this month to figure out the paperwork and to see if I could add the items I wanted on the build. Not only did they added the items but had them all installed in a couple of days so when I picked the Mav up I was good to go.

The fact that the trade value has already surpassed what I paid for it. Still may upgrade to a different truck, but if the deal doesn't work on all fronts, the trade won't happen. Love my Maverick!

The gas mileage on the Ecoboost has exceeded expectations for me. The around-town driving has consistently been 27-28mpg, the highway 31-33, although twice so far driving on 55mph back roads for long periods of time has returned 39mpg. For a non-hybrid, that speaks volumes.

Well worth the over 400 day wait! Mileage: 6163 miles total and a verifiable through actual gas put in to miles driven calculated average MPG of 47mpg. I took delivery on Maverick the first week of February- Very cold, ice storms and snow storms followed. I took a 1600+ mile freeway road trip. Then short very short spring and super high summer temps using AC much of the time.

My current tank of gas is running at 58mpg and I am looking at over 700 miles out of this tank which I have achieved the last few tanks.

Mileage, exceeding EPA numbers by a considerable margin
Comfort, wasn't sure what to expect, given the price point & designed to combat Corolla/Civic
Simple, well laid out physical controls
Smoothness of the drivetrain (Hybrid)
Quietness both local & highway
Convenience/Useability of the bed - 1st pickup

Lariat 2023 Hybrid I dont think one plus that was mentioned is the excellent handling Specifically I live in a high rise (one of Fords Maverick targeted groups (city dwellers)) and the parking spots for the building are VERY tight and my Maverick just slides right in as if it knows the space
I’m going to need that handling on the multitude of switchbacks, killer turns, needed to get home here in the hills of Honolulu…

I have had my Maverick since 10/22/21. It just turned 10K in June of 23. I have been a Ford person all my life. This is the best vehicle I have ever owned. Having said that, my last new vehicle was a 1976 Mercury Capri. I love the style, roominess, and the 33 to 35 MPG. Other than the 2 recalls, I have had no problems. I have driven to the Florida Keys 2 times with it, and it has performed great. I will be taking it back to the Keys for two weeks in October for my 70th birthday. While in the Keys in January of this year I exceeded 40 MPG. Take into account the speed limit is mostly 45 MPH. I absolutely love this vehicle. If someone offered me 2X what I paid for it, I would turn them down.

I'm certain it's been mentioned by now. I mentioned it in my initial post in this thread but also about the Lariat color choices. Both just work for me. Not a fan of the Tremor/BAP interior at all. Super bland compared to the other two options.
Hey I got nice aluminum knob covers on my Tremor, it brightens it up....and an orange Tremor sticker on a button.

Handling ... its no sports car, but its no truck. As much as people wax poetic about the first gen VW GTI, it feels like a long-wheelbase version of that car. It's no first gen Focus SVT (which still sets the standard for FWD handling IMHO. That thing could be coaxed into controllable oversteer and had balance that no other FWD car has ever exceeded).

Economy - 45 to 55 going to work.

Perfect size

Great AC

Comfortable

The 360 assist plus can provide a break while driving in traffic
