I remember when the Mustang was introduced as an affordable sports car for the masses and quickly became a icon that has lasted to this day. The Maverick is quickly following it as an icon for trucks of which the other big mfg's will be trying to get in on the game like they did on the Mustang. I'd be really careful with some of the custom work on the early (22-23) years as some day they might be collector items if in the original condition. Just adding my 2 cents to the Maverick picture.

I came here for an Iconic Silver thread, and my disappointment is immense.

If Mavericks are ever going to be collectible, it will likely be on the order of the Ford Courier. It's a niche collectible without broad market appeal and with corresponding values.

I have a true unicorn. A Lariat with all of the top features that doesn't come with a spray-in bedliner or remote start already due to the MY23 being the only model year to not have that.

I might see if I can find a "Lariat UnLuxury" sticker for it.

An Hot Pepper Red XLT Tremor with almost no options. Mine will be rare. It will also not be for sale. First though they have to outsell the original Maverick, which gave the early Mustangs numbers a run for their money.

I don't see the Maverick pickup as much as iconic as I see it as nostalgic. I haven't had this much fun since I drove a Ford Ranger and owned a Chevy S-10 in the late 1980's through the mid 1990's. I never knew I missed small trucks until I drove the Maverick! Plus, when I was a kid in the 1970's my parents owned the Maverick 2-door car. My Dad had a Maverick, I now have a Maverick. For me, the Maverick pickup is more about coming full circle with happy memories and making some new ones. After two decades of driving full-size pickups...my friends think I've lost my mind when they see me drive this truck.

I'd rather make use of and enjoy my truck that I paid for now than have to lock it up most of the time for 30+ years just as a hedge it becomes an "investment".
This ☝
I'ma be dust in the wind, long before this truck is considered an "investment." I only have one vehicle at a time and only have one because I need it. To me, it's just another expense of daily life, like food, clothing and utilities.

After a few years, plastics rot and chipsets fail. That's when it's time to move on to something newer.

As much as I may want to believe this, a truck is not a sportscar, and will never be iconic like a sportscar can be. Who can predict the future though? Mavericks could become collectible if Ford discontinues them too early with limited vehicles sold.

I waited a year and a half for a 2022 Rapid Red Lariat Hybrid First Edition Maverick. It has every option available at the time and after 8-1/2 months, it has 1729 miles on it. I drive it to work a couple of times a month and it's great to drive, but the KBB value for PtoP is about a third above what I paid for it. Until the price starts dropping, it's staying in the garage.

Iconic? Maybe but probably not. Look what happened to the last Ford Maverick, it crashed and burned. Oops that was the Pinto. :)

You’ll Never see a ROI on this or any other car. Factor in the cost of buying, insuring, maintaining, garaging, etc. If you want to have a lot more than $25k 25 years from now, just put it into an S&P index fund.

By the time my Maverick becomes a collector's piece, I will be either 104 or dead. I'm betting on the latter. :ROFLMAO:
