Military Recognition Offer - question about exclusive cash reward

I applied for and received via email a $1,000 Military Exclusive Cash Reward from Ford which is good toward a 23MY Maverick. This email contained a certificate number with an end date of July 5, 2023. In the fine print on the email it says "Place a new retail order or take new retail delivery from a Ford Dealer’s stock by 7/5/23." This apparently was a special regional incentive that allows any veteran to qualify, not just those who were discharged within 24 months of separation. I was honorably discharged in 1983.

Since I placed my order in Sept 2022, can I assume this offer will still be valid assuming I take delivery this year?

I would hope so. Unless the dealer plays games! I sent an email today for clarification to Ford.

I've heard of occasions where Ford sent 1k offers to veterans. Every time I used a military certificate it applied when I took delivery.

In your case it's possible the offer is under your name in the Smart VINCENT. Ford chat can verify what they have on file.

You placed a retail order for a 2023MY in Sept. There you go, Bob’s your uncle!!

So I sent my question to Ford and got the following response. I guess what was clearly in the fine print doesn't matter. $500 is better than nothing.

Thank you for your email.
Since the $1,000 Military Recognition Rebate you received will expire at the end of today you will not be able to apply this certificate to your 2023 Ford Maverick order.

You will be able to generate another certificate when you take delivery of your vehicle. Please note that after today Military Recognition certificates revert back to a value of $500.

I was discharged in 1969 and I received the $1,000 certificate as well. Fortunately my Maverick came in the middle of June but before it did I had the same concerns as you. I asked my dealer and he didn’t seem to be worried that Ford would probably honor it even after the date. But talk to your dealer anyway

It also matters when the program begins. The program wasn't in effect when you placed your order, so the offer isn't protected. You either have to order or purchase the vehicle w/in the time frame of the private offer for it to be valid.

Do you have the program # for this offer, I can confirm the "start date" for the offer for you.

It isn't up to the dealer at all. All incentive/offers/programs are verified by Ford through SmartVincent. They are linked to the sale date (and/or order date for retail orders). Only offers valid on one of those two dates can be applied. Ford decides, not the dealer.

Interesting? CFT makes no mention of start date, only end date. I may a BBB inquiry to get confirmation.

Maybe they don't put a start date on the mailing, because they are assuming the "start" date is when you receive the offer?

I'd be happy to look up program details for any of these private offers in SmartVincent. Just need the program number (which should be on the mailing somewhere!)

Yes, you are correct regarding when it began. Here is the response from Ford.

You generated a Military Recognition certificate for program 32076. Program number 32076 runs from May 22nd, 2023 through July 5th, 2023. To be eligible for this program you must order a vehicle between these dates or take delivery of a vehicle between these dates. You ordered your vehicle in September 2022 therefore your vehicle does not qualify for program 32076.

I'm not seeing the information that I usually do when I look up these programs.... it is possible that it is a regional program (not active where we are), so it isn't showing up for me?
