Anything newer has absurd prices for repair right now. We see LOTS of vehicles simply being totaled by the insurance companies for relatively minor looking damage. If it isn't the cost of the part(s), its the lack of availability for a timely repair, when they're on the hook for replacement transportation, while they wait for the parts. As used & after market parts become available, it will become cheaper, but currently its rough going.

Sounds about right.

Much more damage and it would have been a total.

Cars are just about disposable now with the skyrocketing cost of parts and repair.

That's what concerns me. I want my truck. If they total it for lack of parts I think I'll try to buy it back from the Insurance company. Not sure how that works all together, but I'd hate to loose the truck.

I had a scrap on my bumper and headlight on a 21 CX-5 and the est. was about $4700. The damage was so slight I did not see it for a day or two. Guess you should consider yourself lucky. LOL

If parts availability becomes an issue, then let your adjuster know that used parts are acceptable.
